RT keeps printing this over and over and over. The complete truth is that he was already questioned by Stockholm police on August 30, 2010. The initial police investigation was from August 20, 2010. The police released Assange after questioning on August 30 and dropped the rape part of the investigation. The accusers' attorney appealed the decision to stop part of the investigation and Marianne Ny became involved, Swedish Director of Public Prosecution.

Someone obviously got to the two women after August 20. Ny decided to reinstate all charges against Assange. Before that, the police had questioned Assange and dropped the sex crime charges. There is more to it, if anyone cares to read.

All the women asked for in their initial complaint was an HIV test for Assange. They never accused him of rape. Had Ny not turned it political, Assange likely would have been pressured into providing an HIV test to the women and the complaint would have been resolved. I can't stand it when RT makes it seemed like Assange has never answered to Swedish authorities for these charges.
