Azerbaijan's President sworn into office

Azerbaijan's President Ilkham Aliyev has been sworn in for a second consecutive term in the country's capital, Baku. The ceremony took place in the palace named after Azerbaijan's former head of state and Aliyev's late father, Geydar Aliyev.
In his first speech since taking the oath, Ilkham Aliyev pledged to continue his father's policies to improve the welfare of Azerbaijan's people.
Aliyev won a landslide victory in last week's election, gaining around 89 per cent of the vote.
Under the constitution, he will hold the post for the next five years.
