‘West doesn’t care what Bahrain does to its people’
April 22, 2012 02:48
The pro-democracy protests in Bahrain have been going on for more than a year now but the West will keep on turning a blind eye to human rights in the country as long as it acts in accordance with US interests, says journalist Patrick Henningsen.

Isn't that a good thing? You've been yapping about western interventions and how wrong they are. Congratulations! Now they aren't intervening and you are crying.
i'm not so sure the west doesn't care. The west isn't indifferent to what's going on in Bahrain. The west cares as far as supporting action (being subtle and hands-off as far as possible) that will suppress the will of the people and perpetuate the will of the west.
It is true! The West don't care about the killings in Bahrain because they are selling the weapons for the Bahrainian forces to kill innocent people. As long as the war machine, that keeps feeding the UK, USA, French and Israslie economys, the West couldn't give a stuff, to who gets killed maimed or hurt. I feel, we could expect to see increases of rebels fighting by appealing to the west for military aid especially in places like Jordan. Because at the end of the day the Zionist agenda is nowhere near completed.
America, britain, fran ce n a few others dictate who should n should not rule.Matimatically,t he puppet rigem in Bahrain has killed more people than the Syrian regim has killed but nobody see that.(When u have to compare the two countries population). It's again more laughable when that same regim in Bahrain joins other brutal regims such as Saoudi Arabia,Qatar,UAE to critisize the Syrian regim. How different are they from the Syrian regim?Weather the west likes it or not,the regim in Bahrain is an illegitimate one n so must fall(u can never kill an idea)
Americans don't care because we they know that the people will shift the blame to the US as soon as we get involved. We've got like five other wars going on right now that no citizen wants to be involved in. Plus we've got our own problems now. The US will soon be like Bahrain if we let the government keep doing what they're doing. Good luck!
I think people in the west are intrinsically racists and view others as lesser beings. How else could situations like Bahrain or east Timor be allowed to happen and remain unchallenged for so long? How much money is involved in F1 and those supporting/watching it? And yet millions face starvation in parts of the world.
One good thing about the Formula 1 race there is that it brings in reporters who are not bound hand and foot to the USA or Bahrain governments. I was surprised to hear BBC reporters on USA's NPR network interviewing protesters in Bahrain. We had silence in the news about that country until Formula 1 brought in a bunch of foreign reporters. All those foreign reporters covering the race are noticing that there are a few "problems" with riots almost adjacent to the racers. BBC even interviewed a doctor who had been tortured and imprisoned for treating some injured protesters. Finally there is a crack in the dam.
it is sickening to see the west keeping silent on the atrocities committed by the sunnis against the shites in bahrain... even to the extent of calling the people .. extremists... while they sent weapons to syria to topple a secular nation where all the people regardless of tribe or religion lived in harmony.
The little country of sand dunes, which Iran claims as its territory, experienced a sad destiny under British oppression after discovery of oil in the forties, but also a proud history of winning riots after WW2, similar to those in present time. They kicked the ar@es of Jews and shifted them to Bombay. After classical UN declaration in 1970, similar to those related to late Libya or Kosovo, those islands were granted independence and the Jews comes back. Now the situation is even more hopeless, because there is no chance to kick them out again. They will be humiliated and oppressed by western paid revolutionaries same way as happened to the Libyan people.
Gulf states at the moment are the biggest market for us/nato weapons The have the biggest army camps outside the us Also the need to "control" the oil .. oil markets etc So why change the regimes and put in danger their interest ??? Search - think - question and Open your minds !!!!!
