Germany is the one country that has been a good friend to the United States for decades. America does not need to lose the trust and good will of the German people and their government.

The decision by GM, not to sell Opel is going to undermine the actions of Barack Obama. Obama is reaching out, GM is holding back, and indirectly supporting the "old" USA's attempt to rule the world. If GM had money, and could support the European factories, the picture may look different, but now, it just look like USA (GM) do not want to lose the Opel/Wauxhall brand in Europe, as the Chevrolet brand is weak in central Europe. GM is not USA, but the action of GM is definately hurting the new image of USA, not the least as the US government is the main shareholder in GM.
