Nigeria like most African cultures is very superstitious. It has deep roots of blaming children for bad luck. Not long ago( within the last 100 years) the same area Calabar and Akwa Igbo believed twins were evil and were killed at birth by throwing them in the river or jungle. This practice has now stopped thanks to the work of people like Mary Slessor ( 1848- 1915) However combine strong believe in Ancestor worship and Traditional Africa religion other wise known as JuJu with the imported American style pentecostal Christianity which has a strong hold in southern Nigeria and you get a very dangerous mix. With people go into frenzy and talking in tongues and witch hunting in church. Evil is always seen in the weaker of the community, children, mentally ill and women. In all the many years i had been dropping by in Nigeria, I have not heard of men been accused of witchcraft. While elsewhere a christian believes in One all powerful, In Nigeria all the gods are powerful but evil except the Christian God, They simply take the fight from spiritual to real world. Ironically it is not uncommon for a priest and an Imam to meet at a witch doctor's shrine where they ask for his charms and potions.

chidren are innocent people in God's eyes. yes in africa we do believe in witchcraft and this belief will be always there. chidren have no time to practise this evil belief.Jerry's father should be in jail. parents are supposed to protect their children. i was born and raised in africa and witchcraft is the main game in my tribe. im christian and you pray and these evil spirit cannot touch u. im not with my husband now because he himself he is in witchcraft and have millions cuts in every joints to ptotect himsellf from \\\\being attact by witches. it is all confussing how these people see it and it brinngs serious problems in families like mine. i left africa 20 years ago and the witchcrafts headaches stilll exist around me. u have your family members married to witchcrafts and u cannot change their minds. it is the power they get from this world they live in . but to accuse children that is 100% wrong and something needs to be done immiediately in Nigeria and jail these parents who are abusing these children. .

How sad!!! Children are and will always be innocent. They are unaware of "the ways of the world" and yet the so called father who has thousands of cuts all over his body has the audacity to accuse his own child of witchcraft !! This is the situation;

I myself practice a certain type of witchcraft, and ask the fanatics of the Christian world to look within their own borders before expanding beyond them. I am a teenager, in high school, and have studied the craft for many years, What is wrong with it? I do not worship any devil.
