Video and photos of an unusual glowing multi-colored ”mushroom cloud” hanging over Beijing skyline scared internet users who couldn’t make out what it was.

An unusual sight lit up Beijing skyline – a huge glowing mushroom cloud hung over the city around 7 pm local time.

It covered several miles and stayed in the air for about an hour, gradually taking the shape of an atomic bomb explosion. It then gave way to more surprises – a further spectacle of lightning strikes lit up the evening skies, making the site even more ominous.

But instead of being a danger to residents or marking imminent the Apocalypse, predicted by the Mayan calendar, the phenomenon was reported to be completely harmless.

It is thought to have been a giant cumulonimbus cloud – a vertical tower which is typically associated with thunderstorms.

Chinese authorities however advised residents of Beijing to stay inside on Monday on account of the green, yellow and orange "mushroom cloud," according to Agence France-Presse.

Many have expressed shock that a formation so similar to that of the after effects of an atomic bomb could appear over their city.

Its a message from the aliens :  Be aware.  The war-mongering Americans are up to something.  Set your missiles alert to Defcon 1, Beijing.  Washington plans to send missiles your way.  Trust you have target-marked Washington for a DF-41 response?  Rogue neocon US generals may be prone to take things into his own hands.  No US "mistakes" will be  allowed and no apologies accepted.  Just a pre-emptive if not an immediate counter-reply via launched missiles.  The anti-christ is America.

It's the Zionists! It's the Yanks! Come on people, how often are you going to play that card? You give far too much credit to them being responsible for every little thing that happens. What about the possibility this was done by the Chinese themselves? Testing out weapons or their own Haarp? I personally think it's a weird thunderstorm and nature can drum up some strange things. There is no proof of radiation yet is there? and nobody dying from it? So keep your little minded conspiracy theories to yourself until there is some hard evidence.

Wow. I honestly feel sorry for the people who are too stupid to understand that changing weather patterns requires **WAY** more energy than anything HAARP can accomplish. Believe it or not, clouds have mass. A LOT of mass. To think that these radio waves are powerful enough to move all of that water is just absolutely crazy. I don't even have words for how stupid that is.
Critical thinking people. Not telling anyone to believe me. Just to think about it.
