For the western powers, this UN resolution allows more time for the pressures of sanctions to have their desired effect upon Syria and its government.  For Russia and China, I suppose there is always the hope of a negotiated settlement between the government of Syria and the opposition.  However, I do not think there is much of chance of such an agreement.  The overriding factor is the fact that the United States will stop at nothing, in order to get what it wants in the region.
Well, the only difference now compared to the past is the fact that USA is becoming weaker by the hour, let alone days, moths.  The success of this resolution is the clear show of that weakness..  This is the beginning  of the new world order, in which Russia, China an other BRIC countries are going to call shots.  It is been long over due.

It seems to me that people at large still hold the illusion that there's some common ground that can be established between East and West... that West is still a reliable partener if only the "right" thing is said and done... through negociations, UNSC vote, whatever. All wrong... Western power establishment, made up of various rogue entities, knows only one objective: full spectrum dominance of the world... through whatever means... "peaceful" takeover (Eastern Europe as an example) or outright war... no middle ground... So, the fact that Russia, China and other "balancing" powers still talk to this establishment proves they're also engaged in the Game play... In other words... so sorry for you, people of the world, you future is totally screwed up... no real hope left for you...

I don't know what is the real program of  this Station? Become one of the world leading news organization or just become another AmyGoodman show in Russia Style. If RT wants to become a serious and world leading organization they will need to extand their reach and have a representative all over the world from north to south and from East to West. They power of the former soviet Union was their power of how the communicate. This station seem to hire only Americain and Bristish and some few people from Australia. The Station should start seeking a Talents reporting around the globe. Look Voice of Amererica, BBC News, Al-jazeera, Radio France International or France 24.  Russia either push to become a global power which cannot been done without been a global super power in communication. Media and any related services are the mouth of any leading society. America is doing that well. They know how to promote their agenda and country. RT needs to have little bit of ambition. First I don't understand why a state station create since 2005 cannot broadcast into French, Arabic, Chinese, and Spanish, Portuguaise and other language such as Farsi, Indous. Any country who win the communication battle will be the super of next century. We are at the beginning of the new century. We have just fully used only 11 years.

The US Ambassador to the United Nations love her VIRAGA man. So Vialiy watch out before they take down Syria and Iran and invade Russian from its South Western boundry. The US/Europe is asserting "Full Spectrum Dominance" so Putin  will have to get off his horse and begin checking his Missiles and military. Russia should have provided Iran with the S-300, now Putin what you are going to do?

The reality for UN Security Resolutions looks more optimistic. Positive change in the direction of a more balanced approach to the currently opposed political positions of the warring Syrian parties is a good thing.  It is a diplomatic event of great significance for Russia, because it may be the end of a chain of catastrophic events devolved by the credit crunch and dishevelment of the progressive tax rate system in the USA and the entire World.   A progressive tax rate crisis marked in the Russian experience by the collapse of the Soviet Union and a period of uncertainty  that saw the Flat Tax Rate emerge triumphant.   This is the reason for Putins' recent tears at election victory, the weight of the real international situation and the pressure brought upon Russia by collapse of the Wests Financial Structures.   In which Russia would have been very concerned at the potential chaotic disintegration of the West, for the fact that its own Soviet collapse was certainly a financial collapse of progressive tax rate structures of epic proportions.   The Arab Spring is a combination of pressures relating the oppressions of minority reports suddenly finding common ground with whole communities affected by credit crunch fiscalism.  The situation for Russia doesn't look like a victory for freedom and liberation, it looks more like the chaotic militarisation of disintegrating progressive rate ideology without the communist experience that brought Russia to its conclusion of the Flat Tax Rate.   Ten thousand Hitlers returning to the political economy of serfdom.  This is why Russia will continue to look to the Security Council for the promise of stability, and why China with its promise of the Communist Experience delivering a decision to the Flat Tax Rate system will be its natural diplomatic ally.

The Russian envoy's guarded optimism is encouraging but 90 days is a long time in the life of Syrians. The terrorist opposition groups will use the lull to realign their efforts to topple President Assad. I trust the monitors will do their job properly and keep the opposition close.  It's clear that the US has no intention of giving up on 'regime change'. And as usual, Susan Rice is leading the whispering campaign against Kofi Annan's efforts. It's not easy to trace the source of her beligerance, so perhaps she just needs to get laid more often.

The US wants a violent solution to their liking, period. They will use whatever means to get this. China and Russia must be 100% vigilant to make sure that every act of subterfuge by the US and its henchmen is publicized and condemned.

Tha ts correct.. that why is important for Russia and China and anyone who agreed in a peaceful solution.. To convince the opposition.. specially the extremist with weapons. that a civil war and military conflict is not necessary.that there are non violent  ways to get the changes they want. That their pariticipation in politics will be honored by UN.. that they can get reliable democratic process and transition with the help of international comunnity monitoring.
