Corruption's been Putin's biggest failure: opinion poll

A recent opinion poll in Russia shows an overwhelming majority support the outgoing President Putin's policies. The Vedomosti newspaper has published results of a poll conducted by sociological research centre Levada.
According to the newspaper, most believe Putin's biggest failure during his eight years in office has been in the fight against corruption, followed by not limiting the influence of the oligarchs enough and finally in battling crime.
As for successes, those responding said that the economic development of Russia was Putin's biggest achievement during his eight years. Increases in salaries and an increase in optimism were close behind.
