13.03.2014 13:05

Western media and the self-proclaimed government in Kiev are ranting about the “Russian invasion” in Crimea. However, international journalists on the scene are struggling to find any evidence of these claims and paint quite a different picture.

[quote name='Konrad Wallenrod' Oh yeah! The "international& amp;amp; quot; journalists from Transdniestria, Abkhazia, and even Ossetia could not find any trace of Russian army in Crimea, i.e. Ukraine. For a simple reason: per orders from putkin, they had to stick their heads up their aysssesss.

OBVIOUSLY, YOU'D RATHER BE LIED TO BY THE LIKES OF CNN, FAUX (FOX) NEWS AND BBC (BULLSHIT BROADCASTING COMPANY) IN THE LEAD UP TO THE IRAQ WAR... How can Russia call off the Crimea referendum ? Russia doesn't have the authority. The referendum was voted for by the Crimea Parliament. "

they admit local officials do not recognise the coup in Kiev and the coup has no authority over them. They already decleared independance. Somebody needs to start talking to them directly which would only be de facto recignition they are independant. The referendum will add them legitimacy.

The West might aswell shout their demands to ... I don't know .... Luxembourg. "Call off the Crimea referendum or we'll institute sanctions against you."

Western media first 'claimed' Russian helicopters, aircraft, tanks and armoured ground troops were pouring over the Crimea border in an invasion - now demonstrated to be blatantly UNTRUE

So then they 'claimed' several times Russian militia had given Ukraine military bases in Crimea ultimatums to surrender or be attacked - now demonstrated to be blatantly UNTRUE

Now they're claiming the referendum is being held at Russian gunpoint - but yet again, they don't have a shred of evidence.

B ut real evidence pointing at the Maidan snipers belonging not to Yanukovych, but this new regime, and NOTHING in the western media.

So who are these people in fatigues carrying military weapons? Everybody knows, so we can stop pretending. Russia, Russia, Russia.

"these people in fatigues carrying military weapons" are members of Crimea self-defence units with weapons taken from Ukrainian military bases located there whose personnel switched sides after the coup toppled the government.
And Russian 25000 troops located in Crimea is stationed within their bases under the terms of Kharkov agreements...

How many times it should be repeated?...

So who are these people in fatigues carrying military weapons? Everybody knows, so we can stop pretending. Russia, Russia, Russia. You roll into your neighbours with your tanks, and wonder why they start to hate you. Isolation, paranoia, mistrust. There are much better ways...
BUT...
A SENIOR Russian lawmaker said military units are occupying positions in Crimea in case of armed attack from Kiev, in the first apparent admission by Moscow that its forces have occupied the Ukrainian region in a military operation.

...so who is telling the truth TR or Russian government;-)
And that "SENIOR Russian lawmaker" has a name probably, yes? Indulge my curiosity, please. ;-))
Or that is another truthless statement as those about 220000 Russian soldiers, 1800 tanks etc on Ukraine's border ready to invade?

Crimea is very pro Russian and everyone knows it. Crimea was always a place for Russians to go for relaxation and recuperation on Doctors orders.
Well done Crimea for standing up to the Kiev thugs who are not representative of the Majority of Ukraine who are also very pro Russian. Mr Putin is the good guy in all of this and western media are not reporting the facts.

I think Russia has a big problem.

Yes, but they are dealing with it right now.

"Just like with the Spanish civil war, England, Italy, France & Germany helped Franco's nationalists win."

Yes, I think you are correct. There are quite a few parallels to the rise of Fascism in Europe. Remember that the Germans were bloody furious at the bankers after the Great War... and then the bankers funded the fascists.

After seeing the reports on Crimea, I would be concerned these local self-defence forces may be vulnerable to the kind of covert enemy action that the West is so good at.

They probably don't have the training & equipment of regular army.
