sad that it has come to this but russian cannot stand by and watch as red army monuments are defiled, our language is displaced and our navy is thrown out of its base which russians died for on many occasions.

no negative feelings toward ukraine at all but these actions are necessary to ensure our interests.

Russian's people supporting military auctions in Ukraine?
It's disgusting, I can't believe what staff people saying toward Ukrainian people. That's just showed what kind ob Brothers we are and it's just ...
But no matter what Ukraine will survive this and sadly we know thru face of brother.

Ukraine is Russian through and through which is very good.
Russia supplies gas to EU via Ukraine pipe line which makes trade advantageous for all.
Ukraine would be foolish to trust EU or USA for any kind of useful help as both are financially bankrupt. (with the EU in particular sinking fast.)
One has only to look at Spain, Greece, Italy etc. to see that the EU is not working and it is only the might of Germany which is keeping it going, albeit in an artificial manner, But even German help wont stop the inevitable decline of an expensive experiment gone wrong. Ukraine would be best to look to Mother Russia for help.

Ah Olympics are gone Russia is back - Just game playing here. Let me guess destabilization then protect your interests?
Looks like the game has just started Ukraine is way to important to Russia for it just let it go and turn into Poland.

At the end of the day Poland will end up split between Russia and probably Germany... THEY DESERVED IT!!!!

Please ALL use correct term ! "Pro-Russia is WRONG and harmful term"

Agree. There is Russia as a state and russians as nation. ethnic russians could happily live in ukraine as long as thier rights are respected. Loosing regional language is not good for them either. Why do they clash? Do tatars now hope to gain more land and power by forcing russians out under ukranian nationalist state power? Tatars lool driven by corrupted aim to gain on unti-russian wave. Russians may have a point talking about racial cleansing applied to them in Ukraine.

Returning to the rulling by power of guns in hands of self assembled groups of agressive civillians is in deed barbaric. That could only happen when the official authirity express no leadership and strength. Ukraine digressed into this state by Maidan with help of preasure from the west. Current parlament is at thier gun point, new president will be as well. West think they can control yhe crowd? Nobody can. Thier "oposition" ; is exposed and politically dead. Crimea's parlament has to give people civilised channels. Refusing to discuss the issue creat a bigger one - crowd in search for answers without wise leaders.

Please ALL use correct term ! "Pro-Russia&quo t; is WRONG and harmful term . "Anti-nazi" ; term should be used instead.
1. The main motivation of people of Crimea is anti-nazi (anti-bandera) amotivation as a reaction on neo-nazi putsch in Kyev and on the nazi law to prohibit use of minor language .

2. The term "Pro-Russia&quo t; is related to SEPARATIZM , which is not popular in most countries of the World.

Fredka, Putin will not send in tanks and an Army. He will let the people of Ukraine settle it among themselves.

fredka 27.02.2014 05:25

It appears that the Army is backing the Nazi hoods by standing by and let these hoods burn buildings and throw molotov cocktails at the police. So Putin has no choice but send in troops to protect the Russian speaking populace. If Ukraine's hoods with the army wants to get their behinds kicked like Georgia did it's their choice!!! unfortunate for the innocent dead.NATO and the US will just stand by and give nasty threats.

During the Soviet era everyone was a citizen of the Union, there was no question of ethnicity; just as in Yugoslavia. But, after the fall of the regime, which was mainly due to Mr. Gorbachev's huge mistake, the question of ethnicity, blown up by the western agitators' financial support, and the prevalent social and economic instability, is dividing people along ethnic lines which will not only not improve their lot, but will bring their collective demise.

Bravo Alex!

Super -civilized Belgium last week passed a bill allowing abortion for children. And the Roman Chatolic Pope Francis did say NOTHING.
Of course he was elected by Time magazine 'person of the year 2013' and recently got a cover of Rolling Stone.
What to say pop(e)-culture. Btw, I am Chatolic and I feel ashamed by him.

Crimean Tartars align themselves with Nazis again. There is a Kazakh proverb “Uli irim a, qizi Qirim a ketti" which means "The son went as a hostage, and the daughter went to the Crimea (to slavery)". The Tartar slave trade was a cornerstone of the Crimea’s economy for centuries. In 1758, 40,000 slaves was captured during a raid on Moldavia, 20,000 slave in 1769, during Tartar incursions into Poland and Russia. Modern Crimean Tartars are offspring of ex kidnapper slaveholders, they are opportunists, liars and most of all parasites.
