In Ukraine, a number of people have been injured in clashes between ethnic Crimean Tatars and construction workers over disputed land in the town of Simferopol.

The workers attempted to evict three hundred ethnic Tatars from land destined for a new housing estate.

The Tatars claim the land belongs to them, and is currently the centre of a lawsuit being heard in a Simferopol court.

The city says it has let the land legally.

The Ukranian Ministry of Internal affairs has condemned the use of force in the evictions.
