Policemen wounded in Dagestan shootout

Two policemen have been wounded in a drive-by shooting in Russia’s southern republic of Dagestan. They are now receiving treatment in hospital.
Unidentified gunmen fired at a vehicle in Dagestan’s Kizilyurt district on Monday, a spokesman for the district police department told Interfax.
This attack comes just days after another incident involving police in Dagestan, when two security officers were killed on Saturday as gunmen attacked a police station.
The Caucasus Region remains a highly volatile area with regular attacks on police and security forces.
