Dagestani police chief murdered

Unknown gunmen have murdered the Minister for Internal Affairs, also the head of local police, in Makhachkala, the capital of the Republic of Dagestan in Russia’s south. Five more people were wounded.
Preliminary reports say that the minister was shot from a 9-storey building next to a banquet hall. According to the hospital chief executive, “the minister was wounded in the heart and died without regaining consciousness.”
As a result of the shooting, five people were wounded and taken to hospital, including the colonel heading the Tax Crimes Department in the Republic, Abdulzhapar Magomedov.
Police report that the minister was a guest at the scheduled wedding of the local police colonel’s daughter.
