Early parliamentary elections possible in Poland

Poland’s Prime Minister, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, is considering the prospect of early parliamentary elections this autumn.
The governmental crisis was initiated by the President’s decision to sack the Agriculture Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Andrzej Lepper. In response, Mr Lepper’s Self Defence party withdrew from the coalition, triggering the need for a snap election.
Andrzej Lepper was dismissed after he was linked to a bribery and corruption case, but he maintains his innocence. His party has been criticising the government and has repeatedly insisted that the planned deployment of U.S. missile defence units should be put to a referendum.
