I am really happy for the Egyptian people that they are finally electing somebody that will serve the Egyptian people and Egypt and not Israeli and American interests. God bless them. I hope this revolution spreads all across the middle east and people world wide oust their american puppet dictators and elect a real leader.   Als o, as a response to Vlado. Vlado, you must be Serbian and have some grudge against Muslim people. Well let me englighten you, you shouldn't. Islam and Muslims are not bad people, the people that were fighting Serbs in the 90's Yugoslavia war and the Kosovo war were not Muslims, but they were CIA appointed Al-Qaida personnel brought into Yugoslavia to destabilize it and so they can then build bases all over that region.

The problem with democracy is that even in a country with a high standard of education he who owns the media decides who will govern the country and what that ruler will do.
In US election after US election the Israelis fund the winning candidate and then tell people like Bush and Obama what their CIA and NATO will do in the Middle East.
How is America or Europe "democratic" when the voters have NO real say in what "their" leader does while people in the USA who they have never voted for call the tune?

Wars are the ultimate conclusion of what happens when people desire to enrich themselves upon the misery of another, which is evil, a crime in any fair and just society. For example, grade school kids of migrant workers labor long hours in a hot dusty field earning less then minimum which enables everyone in America to enrich themselves by lower food costs. And while their eating the food, while their enriching themselves upon the misery of helpless kids, not one in a million feels a qualm of guilt. So, before we can stop all wars, everyone has to have a desire to do only good, in essence give up our freewill and be a slave to good. Surely a thing Ben_C in his current frame of mind would never agree to do, for in his words it would be “even ruinous to... human nature—in all its beauty and ugliness alike.” And so, either Ben_C of the intelligent middle-class is walking in the light, or me of the slow of thought laboring class is trying to get him to see the light.

We all know the west has been running Egypt and bankrolling its military ........so why are we now acting as judge and sanctimonious jury?

I do not believe that the Islamist are stupid enough to bring in an extremist agenda that allies itself with outside anti-american forces to consolidate a Sunni Islamist extremist coalition. They may have some influence on certain social constructs that govern the everyday lives of some parts of the Eygptian culture, but one must give the Muslim Brotherhood some credit for their stadfastness, social, medical hospitals, clinics and education institutions, which are some of the best in the world. This group is global and has adapted to a wide range of international ideas and has adapted well in a variety of circumstances. So, these people are not stupid or they would not have had the political foundations in place to capture such a majority of votes in a country of 70 million souls. Yes, they may have a strict or should I say a disciplined outlook and world view, but what's wrong with being serious about one's mannerism, health, religous observance and work ethic. I, believe they will lead and lead smartly with a social program that may show the world how its done from a leadership point of view. And, as far as getting ride of alchol, tobaco and drugs; so what's, the harm in that given the medical and physical damage these habits are causing the rest of the free world? Yet, in being realistic I, can not envision no group being able to stop something if the people want to do, no matter how powerful they believe this group may be. They will adapt or be sweapt away like the previous regime, and again I applaud their achievements and hope they be more inclusive and international in their governance: their not stupid sheep herders blind to the outside world! No boogieman here, so stop with the fear tactics and read more on their history before becoming an armchair geopoliticcal professor.

Democracy? This is a backward step for this and other countries. In reality though this must happen as the bible mentions for surrounding Middle Eastern Countries to attack Israel. Egypt was a stronghold and now the doors will be wide open for WWIII! Russia will join in the attack as the bear form the north then the red dragon for the east with it's 200 million man army!

Quite the reverse, for until the second century over 99% of all Christians were converted Jews who agreed to become pacifists. A short lived situation, for by the time the Emperor of Rome published the first Bible a full 70% of Christians were converted pagans. That is why the Christians stopped being pacifists, that is how the heresy of an eternal burning hell came into the church.
