‘Euro faces existential crisis Brussels was oblivious to’

May 17, 2012 07:53

European politicians failed to see that the single currency’s existence is in peril, trying to blame the system’s failures on individual countries, Aditya Chakrabortty, lead economics writer for The Guardian newspaper, told RT.

The Statements by this  British  are the more hollow  seen in the light that it was the European Union who some years ago at the beginning of the financial Crisis bailed out The United Kingdom by bailing out Ireland Without that .. many of the biggest British Banks would have been bancrupt as they otherwise would have faced enormous losses due to their exposure to the Irish Debt Market ! We did not hear any negative comments out of Anglosaxonia at that occasion !

Its always nice to read the rational views of the deep thinkers who contribute to the wisdom and knowledge of this esteemed organ. I often find that the contributions have great depth, often so deep that they are incomprehensible to those who live on a plane other than that of the contributors

The same gold speculators trying to profit again by stiring a euro crash. Nice try but it would be more effective if you did not make that same claim every week on RT comments section and get proven wrong every time. RTs euro sceptic status has also become crystal clear and you wont often hear RT say that eurozone has a 750 billion bailout package if neccesary which is far more than EU debts. You also wont hear them mention China who are very rich and eager to buy up euro assets if allowed. That means that even in worste case senario greece will become debt free if it has to be bailed out not a "euro crash doom!!!! the end is nie!". THIS BAILOUT PACKAGE IS A FUNDAMENTAL MATH F ACT NOBODY CAN DENY!.

that this crisis was caused by design, ON PURPOSE, to crash the Greek economy and privatize and steal all of its public assets.Just because the money is there for a bailout, does not mean it will be used that way, or ever used for the Greek people's benefit.

BANK RUNS NOW PLAYING (unregistered) 17.05.2012 15:23

Think 2008 was serious? This will far eclipse that crisis. In fact, this will go down in history as the crisis that ushered in the NWO. Coincidence?

Just Issue Drachmas (unregistered) 17.05.2012 15:13

Why can't they just issue Drachmas, and let them circulate side by side with Euros???

The army would only be needed against the bankers to force them to revalue their Euro Bonds in terms of Drachmas for interest and principal payments.

The re is no need for the Euro currency to leave Greece.

Just start paying salaries in Drachmas, and collecting taxes in Drachmas, but allow both currencies to circulate freely side by side in the retail area?

Stop Burning Euros!!! (unregistered) 17.05.2012 14:45

Wow!!!  That's just insanity to burn a 10 Euro banknote like that.

It's worth at least $12.50.
You could buy 3 gallons of gas; or a medium pizza; or a very large fast-food dinner order with it.

Pleas e, send ALL of your extra 10 Euro bills to the US instead of burning them.

We could certainly use the money better than you guys can?
