The case of Russian businessman Viktor Bout detained in Thailand last March following a U.S. extradition warrant comes before a Thai court today.

“Johan Peleman, a UN investigator, never met me and is unable to separate reality from fiction. My case in the book ”Merchant of Death“ seems to be based on a Hollywood movie, rather than documents and facts,” said Viktor Bout.

If handed over to the U.S., Viktor Bout will face charges of conspiracy to murder U.S. citizens, and could face life in jail if convicted.

A court hearing earlier this month was adjourned after witnesses failed to appear.

RT’s Evgeny Belenkiy, who has been covering the story since his arrest, took an exclusive interview from Viktor Bout in Thailand.
