I think former Vice President Dick Cheney was in the wrong talking to the Russians about their wrong doings. We have a Secretary of State that should be handling the affairs of a country who is having difficulties with their neighbor.
NATO mostly led by The USA has aided Geogria with $4 billion dollars worth of aid the last few yrs . The Bush administrations idea was to stir up trouble for Russia like the Clinton administration did for Yugoslavia . This plan could have worked for Clinton if he would have done it the same time he destroyed Yugoslavia . However the bombing and destruction of Yugoslavia signaled Russians what NATO most likely had in store for Russia . After Yugoslavia , Russia decided to forget about Yelsin and his democracy ideas . Russia felt they had no time to fool around , they found a good no nonesense leader and went on a fast track armement manufacturing program . So last yr when Georgia tried some of their tricks , Russia put a imediate stop to it . The Russian where actually telling all of NATO to jump in the lake . Russia was very embarassed in Yugoslavia when Yelsin got the serbs to agree to a peace agrement , UN resolution 1244 . Yelsin had promised Milosevic that Russian troops will be there and we will protect the Serbs . Yelsin was never able to fulfill any of the promises he had made to Milosevic . When Russian troops started to takeup their positions in Yugoslavia , US general Wesley Clark the comander of all NATO fiorces told the English to shoot the Rusian soldiers . United States got the Russians out of their job of protecting The Serbian Orthadox christians . Instead the KLA with their AlQaida troops were left to take care the surplus Orthadox christians in Kosovo .
What is there to discuss. US seems to lead the way and show Russia how to do it. Unfortunately yhere is no superpower or UN to punish any one of the countries that have a seat at the Securuty Council. Whole of the Countries and nations have become pawns at the chess game of the World. Our only hope was the Americans for the past 5 decade but that proved to be wrong as the American people became pawns of their Huge companies, that brainwash, selct and manipulate their leaders. Free will seem to be only a dream. Real problem is now how to get rid of privacy and human rights so the control of the people is complete. PS. We have to admire israel in their efficiency and influence they have over US & World.
