One person has died and at least 18 others were injured after an explosion at a factory in the Novosibirsk region on Tuesday. An investigation is underway into what caused the blast at the chemical fibre factory.
Two of the casualties are reported to be in a grave condition in hospital, while others who were wounded have also been receiving treatment.
The police say the explosion did not cause fire. The blast ripped through the factory’s walls, but much of the structure of the building remains.
A criminal case has been launched on grounds of health and safety.
