If software written by IT companies start to contain spyware, I suspect people will be more inclined to use software not written by IT companies. There is a giant community of programmers out there faithful to the ideals of freedom and open source. This community tends to be the real source of innovation any way. I don't see this proposed spying having the desired results besides exposing large corporations as the tyranies they are when they bend over for the government to maintain their monopolies.
I am not an open sourcey person, although I see of the way the 'Commercial software' is going and the fact is I am less likely use it.I have nothing to hide but I dont agree with what is frankly Chinese censorship. I'm not stupid, but I'm far from a coder as you can get frankly. I dont dabble in things I dont understand.So, to sum up then, may I suggest that commercial so ftware will be short lived given their intrusions into our privacy that are being applied. I detect a new version of XP being torn to pieces and re-asembled by someone shortly dont you?
well said DPyan btw. there certainly is a growing number of those that are willing to support the freedom issue. New apps and software is becoming available daily to circumvent everything. I watch with trepidation to the outcome of this world wide public outrage. Better than any soap opera ever!

My question here is what happened to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights,1948 which protected your right to freedom of speech and privacy? Was it repealed? Amended? Where and when? Because when I'm on skype they are  tracking me...on Blackberry Messaging, when I check my emails, if I go out there are security cameras everywhere, every government official asks for my date of birth and at once has all my details: where I live, what I do for a living...etc...What more do I need to provide that they don't already know? My girlfriend or my mother's name????

I just read, that top Chinese and top US brass, just have been in the Pentagon to discuss "How to fight cybercrime", and some sort of joint control with each others cyberactivities and resources! What is that all about, they said it was to avoid some possible crisis from eachothers cybercapabilities, misunderstandings and so on and so fourth? But I would also take into consideration, the amount of US/Western arms and defence producers that is represented in China! Why and how is it possible that a straight out Communist Regime, that have not long ago, and still is hampering the relations with Russia, "That is no longer such a regime"! The  US/Western leaders "goes to bed with those who can pay the most, short term..."Selling technologi without a word or anyone even raises an eyebrow! What about democracy and human rights? Do they not matter? What do one call it when you sellout all principles that one say is the main reason to go to wars and assasinate leaders other places! And even say they are afraid of some country, getting the technology of something like a car? What is really going on?
