American citizen M. Mercy Santos has sung the national anthem of Russia to honor the victims of the Domodedovo Airport terrorist attack on January 24, in which a suicide bombing left 37 people dead.

Santos says he "was deeply affected by this tragic event," the feeling that motivated him into "learning the Anthem to the best of my ability in Russian."

The man was born in the USA, originally from New Jersey. He is of African-American descent and now resides in Los Angeles, California.

M. Mercy Santos has worked in the film industry for over ten years, providing prints and advertising funding for several Warner Bros. films, funding for MGM, as well as several independent motion pictures.

The suicide bombing at Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport killed 37 people and injured over 180. Russia’s most-wanted terrorist, Doku Umarov, claimed responsibility for the bombing. The investigation is still ongoing, but the authorities have already confirmed the identity of the suicide bomber as Magomed Evloev. Four people have been detained on suspicion of involvement in the Domodedovo attack.
