Federal forces attacked in Russia's south

In the southern Russian republic of Ingushetia a group of armed militants have attacked a motorised infantry regiment. According to local police, no casualties have been reported.
A group of more than ten people fired automatic weapons, grenade and mine launchers from several directions.
Previously there were unconfirmed reports that there were a number of casualties among the soldiers and officers. However that now appears not to be the case.

Valuable documents returned to RussiaThe U.S. embassy in Moscow is holding a ceremony to mark the return to Russia of official documents stolen from the Soviet Union. Some of the letters have been signed by Stalin, Tsar Alexander the First and Nicholas the Second. |
