‘Assange the Incurious’: Critics slam Fifth Estate biopic as unrevealing

25.10.2013 23:28

The Fifth Estate, which cost about $30 mln to make, has raked in a paltry $1.7 mln at the US box office. It was the worst opening weekend yet for any 2013 film release with critics saying the movie revealed few truths either about Assange or WikiLeaks.

Barnes: Complete BS. The martyrs of the French underground were cowards because they didn't "face their accusers?" (Until it was too late after they were captured. Which they tried to avoid. Duh!)

Bottom line: If a gang of criminals (which happens to be the most powerful government in the history of the world) intends to kill you, are you a coward for refusing to march up and surrender to them??

Is the film Assange anything like the real Assange?

He re's Julian talking to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, a couple of weeks back.

...Th e fight that is happening outside is much more important than my desire to get outside. What would I be going into? What would my organization be going into?

...wh ile I am, if you like, imprisoned here, there's a developing prison where you're living, too. It would be pretty bad if I finally got out of here to discover it was better in here than out there.

The problem with Assange is that he is a tarnished hero, hiding out in the Ecuadorian embassy and terrified of being extradited to Sweden to be questioned about sex crime allegations. His excuse is that Sweden will extradite him eventually to the U.S., which possibility the Swedes have denied. Eventually he will tire of sleeping on a mattress on the floor and be sent to Sweden to face the prospect of eventually being tried as a sex criminal. In the meantime, Assange cannot lead Wikileaks adequately, and his Australian political dreams have died stillborne. People don’t care about him as much anymore.

This shows how irrelevant Assange has become. He hit the world stage as a crusader but has ended up hiding from sexual and other charges in a foreign embassy. If it wasn't for RT, he would be nothing but a footnote in history. Now Russia has granted a similar "fugitive" asylum.
Both functioned as defacto "Spy's". As spy's they are honored and despised depending on which side you are on. One thing is certain...brave men face their accusers...cowards hide from them!!!

No ... It's because people know it's propaganda. That's why I didn't go see it.

assange, the movie.
well, having read almost everything published on his travails, i could not think of anything a film might add.
this adds something;
" ;assange&sweden& quot;
"susp icious behaviour"
a pdf summary discrediting the swedish
prosecut ion, well worth a read.

The guys a zionist dis info agent and hoax anyway, he is against 911 truth seekers and only releases filtered, edited, unclassified doccuments that have never lead to one single arrest of the ruling class or broken up one ongoing operation. He's fake and people need to wake up. If he was an actual whistle blower in a British embassy, make no mistake, they would pay a hitman to waste him.

Why would the general public pay to see a movie of questionable content when they can simply get the real dirt from media services like RT thats not swayed by corporate accounts? Actually, I quit watching U.S. media channel's as I started realizing the difference in fluff vs. new's being reported by RT. Again, thank you RT reporter's.
