Five police officers killed by militants

At least five police officers have reportedly been killed and nine others injured during a gun fight with militants in Russia's republic of Dagestan. Three police cars were attacked 40 kilometres southwest of the republic's capital Mahachkala.
Local authorities say the area is now under control. The fight took place at 2pm local time.
