Fukushima cleanup workers’ radiation feared 20% higher

12.10.2013 16:06

Japan’s government may have underestimated by 20 percent the internal radiation doses Fukushima cleanup workers received after the plant’s nuclear disaster, a panel of leading UN scientists says in its preliminary findings.

i would very much like to take under consideration the arguments made by the pro nuke trolls but there is a bit of a problem with all of them (one and the same)..
If nuclear energy had been developed as a clean efficient and safe source we would have opted for thorium instead of uranium 40 years ago.. but we didn't causse "we" wanted plutonium for weapons and thorium doesn't produce it.. it only produces clean, safe and efficient energy without any weapon potential...

Well, what was the point to protect the core of a nuclear power station as it can be in the open air with no harm to anyone.the string of this decadent world where intelligence has clearly deserted this planet is at its maximum of tension, question is not if but when will it brake.

Suzuki - a servant of Big Oil, your "...0.484 microsievert per hour. Areas exceeding 0.23 microsievert per hour are supposed to be decontaminated...&qu ot; is 4.1 mSv per year FAR LESS than natural background OR medical radiation COMMON for many LOW cancer rate areas & populations throughout the world. Hey Suzuki - Big Oil STOOGE - how about showing us the levels of deadly, carcinogenic Asbestos, PAHs, Dioxins, PCBs, Heavy Metals, Furans etc released by your Oil & Gas fires including the Firestorm near Tokyo at the Chiba Oil Refinery. Need to keep that secret along with your OWNED by Bankster/Big Oil mainstream media.

More paid-by-Oil FUD from the Big Oil/Banksters owned media outlet = Reuters. Don't want any competition from ZERO-CO2, ZERO-DEATH clean green nuclear energy.

Big Oil doesn't want you to see this:

Death s per TWh of energy:

Coa l: 161
Oil: 36
Biomass: 12
NG: 4
Hydro: 1.4
Wind: 0.15
Nuclear: 0.04

In a sophisticated analysis the World's #1 Environmentalist James Hansen has shown that Nuclear Energy has already saved 1.8 million lives and will save many millions more vs the ONLY alternative to Nuclear which is BURN-BABY-BURN.

To be honest, I think this is a lot of hype. For what happened, so far there hasn't been some doomsday scenario like everyone says. 50 mSv is bad, but remember that this is a nuclear accident.... people will be exposed. I mean accute radiation poisoning doesn't happen until 1000 mSv. While this is a disaster, it will not end the world. Chernobyl was far, far worse. And what about now? Nothing. You get more radiation exposure doing a cross-Atlantic flight than you do at Pripyat. Bottom line is that this is the best energy source we have. Wind, solar, they will never produce what we need. Nuclear is the answer

Nuclear tech is humanities biggest intellectual fail! The idea if using this tech again is a perfect example of how we are mere apes playing with fire! Fire that can turn our air & water to poison,& burn mother nature to the core! This tech has already expadited humanities extinction! Humanity rolled the dice & rolled Snake eyes on its first try! Why do it again?

Yeah, underestimated accidently on purpose.

They have all this fancy advanced equipment and badges and meters and this comes as a surprise to these people....what is wrong with them?

Citizens group reports high radiation levels at possible venues for 2020 Tokyo Olympics
Oct 09, 2013 The Japan Daily Press
An independent group that did the measurements sent their findings to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the International Olympic Committee (IOC), but both have only dismissed the results.
Yumenos hima Stadium in Tokyo recorded the highest airborne radiation level with 0.484 microsievert per hour. Areas exceeding 0.23 microsievert per hour are supposed to be decontaminated. As for the site’s soil radiation level, the group measured 3,040 becquerels of radioactive cesium per kilogram.

You need a certain level of documeted exposure in order to be tested?! Japan isn't America - or is it?

Quote "About 2,000 people with whole-body doses below 50 millisieverts but thyroid gland doses of 100 millisieverts or over are entitled to be tested for thyroid gland cancer. " Ooh, feel the love.
