Sorry Brad YOU are wrong! You sound arrogant and obnoxious. The man stated a scientific fact, only a "gram" of (some) radioactive materials can cause cancer. Isn't 576,200 DEAD from cancer in the United States (one in four) enough for you? Yes, 1,500 nuclear tests HAVE killed and Chernobyl is estimated 1 million deaths. Your old-school thinking is, in my opinion, wrong. Yes, The cancer from Fukushima WILL be here. Are YOU taking precautions? I know I am. (15 different things to prevent cancer).

Michael 26.12.2013 05:12

Yeah, scientific models of dispersion of materials, what utter nonsense! Seriously, you think that a leak in japan is gonna matter in US waters? You could hurl the entire core of the reactor into the sea and it wouldn't matter. [Quote] The problem is that hot particles are different than the radiation given off by them. If one of those particles is eaten by you and stays in your tissues, you get cancer and die. Only one atom can kill. The Native Americans had no word for cancer, because they had none.

What an a bunch of nonsense.

Ye ah, scientific models of dispersion of materials, what utter nonsense!

Seriously, you think that a leak in japan is gonna matter in US waters? You could hurl the entire core of the reactor into the sea and it wouldn't matter. Do you know how many nuclear weapon were tested in the oceans in the cold war? By your logic we should all already be dead. This situation is like taking a single drop cyinde and dropping it in an olympic sized pool. You could drink all the water you want from that pool, it's not gonna kill you

There are no safe levels of radiation. Less than 1000 millionth of a gram can give you cancer.

Ah ignorance. First, radiation exposure isn't measured in "Grams". Second, I'm afraid that radiation isn't something you can avoid, you're getting it all the time. There's natural background radiation from the sun, from radioactive material in the dirt, from the radioactive carbon 14 that is found in the body of every living thing.

Do some research before running your mouth about something you clearly know nothing about.

I keep getting kicked off but will try and post abbreviated response here. The lady our government and their nuclear specialists have been lying to the American people since the meltdown 2 years & 8 months ago. I live in Albany Oregon and everyone along the west coast has been dosed with some amounts of radiation. This isn't radiation of the past either as it has new players along with it.
Mammals washing up dead on the California coast? How about all the birds? Really think it's bird flu? The Bluefin Tuna from California are contaminated. Now all the starfish everywhere are melting and dying. Lord help us all

check out "the abomination of desolation" translation >the idolatrous installation the brings the desolation" when jesus was asked when you comin back? he warned pregnant women and said "flee the lowlands" every nuclear plant is destined to make a heck of an impact on lives. good thing my citizenship is in heaven

Bugsy 11.12.2013 16:12

There are no safe levels of radiation. Less than 1000 millionth of a gram can give you cancer. Imagine the immensely high levels of radiation going into the sea if it can reach all the way across the ocean. We are talking 6 reactors, 3 lost cores, 14000 times the radiation of that of the bomb on Hiroshima! We are talking about a global catastrophe which is being kept almost completely out of the news!
Have you heard of the China Syndrome?

Mystery ailment is wiping out coast's starfish
Decembe r 9, 2013 San Francisco Chronicle

T he killer – most likely some kind of virus, bacteria or pollutant – has ravaged a variety of starfish species in tide pools and in deeper water along the coast from Mexico to Alaska.

Mar ine biologists who are joining forces to find the culprit are looking for marine biotoxins and viruses and exploring a variety of possible sources, including radiation from the debris that washed across the Pacific Ocean after the Fukushima disaster.

Arnd-Peter Mauruschat 10.12.2013 15:55

What a dense statement:
" ;The ventilation pipe used to conduct radioactive gasses after the nuclear disaster may still contain radioactive substances, TEPCO added. "

If there were no radioactice substances - then there was no radiation. REDICIOLOUS !

Arnd-Peter Mauruschat 10.12.2013 15:51

Paul is sctually right. They feed us only with information that can not be helt back anyway. This company TEPCO's responsibles as well as the Japanese goverment belongs to court in Den Hague for the worst crime commited to the human race - ever ! Unbeleavable is that these nodding wankers are still in charge with the clean-up of this out of scale catastrophy !
