10.08.2013 14:11

Contaminated groundwater accumulating under the crippled Fukushima nuclear power plant has risen 60cm above the protective barrier, and is now freely leaking into the Pacific Ocean, the plant’s operator TEPCO has admitted.

Gee, I don't know what the problem is, because Ann Coulter actually said Radioactive stuff is good for you. To which, I ask, why did she not go over there and get herself a heaping helping of the stuff!

Goliath Immortal 12.08.2013 09:21

Why didn't they decommission the sumbytch as soon as they realized it was damaged?
Man, what a mess .........

Nothing CAN be done. It will do what it will do and no intervention by man is possible.

Someone once said that God made man, but the monkey supplied the glue. The tunafish sandwich I just ate, probably sealed my fate.

Checked French TV Website and there is news of this buried among other Asia/Pacific news but nothing like it is stated here.
Maybe the World does not care about Japan.

Down here in New Zealand there is abolutely NOTHING on the TV or Newspapers about this.
Usually they are pretty quick to disclose anything about Nuclear Disasters.
I can't understand why they don't.

Why is it that media is only periodically turning to this problem, even though this is an on-going ecological disaster? We are capable to endlessly talk of global warming, while by far more serious crisis is threating the life on earth.

I would like to hear from experts, that is, if there are such people who are not affraid to speak.

The question is, if the only way to insure that the reactors are cooled down to prevent their restarting the nuclear cycle is by water, and the reactors (some) are not contained, the contaminated water will go into ocean. How they plan to store that water and for how long??

Oh well just a few more cancer victims and I like three eyed fish

Paul Lozancich 11.08.2013 18:18

What is needed is for Russia, the US, China and Japan to hold a meeting of their top nuclear and radioactivity experts and figure out a way to deal with this before large parts of the Pacific Ocean become severely contaminated. If they don't do something now, the problem will continue to get worst and affect all countries in the Pacific Rim. Experts from other countries should be invited as well.
