I'm not going to get into who has better democracies, it is for the Russian and Georgian people to decide what type they want or any other country for that matter,...bottom line in my opinion is that this policy that Georgia has under Mr Saakashvili. will lead to no were, Georgia can not fully developed with out friendly ties with Russia, and that will never happen as long as Mr Saakashvili or his allies are in power...but in the end is for Georgians to choose there future and if they want sakhashvili is there business.
@ Soccer Coach, exactly! Why can't they do like the USA!! Like Roosevelt, who had 4 terms, er, maybe 3 1/2 because he inconveniently died. But he would have had 5 terms if he lived long enough! Yeah!

Contrast this with Russia and the Arab World, for example ...
No kidding - those evil dictators who stay in power more then two terms... I mean look at that dictatorship in Canada - Jean Cretien for example. Or France - that evil de Gaulle. Worst of them all - Maggie Thatcher - 11 years in the top office!! Why cannot everybody do things exactly like the USA?! /end sarcasm BTW , what is wrong with what is happening in Russia? Als o how many protesters do you need to declare them the voice of the people?
People take to the streets in opposition to being treated as other than people. Reaches a boiling point being human and treated like vermin. But why does the same formula to the same problem continue for centuries according to history. In the streets and also get very badly harmed. A highly well educated psychologically sound billions on planet earth must feel too competitive to the owners of human beings.
Ah it is no problem Russia, not safe anywhere the bio-engineered-air takes care of any and all problem human people in the streets or not.
Georgia as a country will also stand and fight against anti-social government that has been developed by the secret services of U.S.A. it is the fact that human rice should face. The anti-government strikes will continue until the current president will leave the post and allow the free speech in Georgia, all television channels and media are not under the government control at this moment. The meaning of “the government control” is the current president.
" Saakashvili and his supporters will be in power a long time"
Preside nt Saakashvili stands down from office at the end of his current term. Georgia, largely thanks to the democratic institutions the Presient has sought to establish since the Rose revolution, offers the mechanisms for a change of government as and when the people demand it. And also the tolerance towards those who wish to takes their protests to the streets, as these events demonstrate. Cont rast this with Russia and the Arab World, for example ...
2.000 people in a city of 1.500.000 it says to me one thing that the opposition doesn't have the numbers on it's side, the Georgian people in my opinion are fed up with demonstrations and they want some stability after the August war,.....the opposition is to divided to be of any challenge to Saakashvili,.....and that is the problem that Georgia is facing, Saakashvili and his supporters will be in power a long time, that means no peace with Russia,....Georgia needs Russia to be able to develop.
