With untrustworthy people sitting around making these agreements they need setup cameras audio mics so the public can check on what the final agreement is.
Its called democracy.

This is all nonsense for public consumption and to support the Plastic Chancellor's election campaign in Germany. After the agreement is signed the German security services will collect the information and pass it to their NSA masters.

USA and UK are in cahoots with NSA PRISM systems and seem to be pursuing a cold war mentality when the rest of the world has moved on. Snowden is a hero and the free World owes him a great debt of honour for his courageous whistle blowing of PRISM

ie. "creating the appearance the public is not being spied on" pact

How naive to think that the spying is going to stop. This propaganda is damage control indeed. How is Germany's master just going to give up doing what they've been doing for decades? What "negotiations&q uot;? What are Germany's politicians going to give away in these so called negotiations in order to make the people believe that the spying is going to stop?
