Staff members of the U.S. Embassy in Minsk have left Belarus after being declared persona non grata. According to reports, the list includes the names of five diplomats and five marines protecting the compound.

The U.S. has put off its decision whether to close the Belarus Embassy in Washington.

The State Department says it's still considering how to respond to the expulsions.

Minsk took the decision as Washington had failed to cut the size of its embassy staff following an official request.
