Higgs boson hunt: CERN scientists find 'hints' of 'god particle'

December 13, 2011 15:12

Geneva scientists have registered a glimpse of the “Higgs boson”, but not distinct enough to claim a proper discovery. This raises hope that the 60-year hunt for the Standard Model explanation of the universe’s creation may be finished within a year.

Natano is right on the money in that our efforts are being expended in the wrong directions. Would it not be more effective to search for the pattern of infinite division rather than smaller particles to further define scales at which no practical, accurate, or relevant measurements can be made? For one curious about the true nature of space, one should watch "Black Whole" by Nassim Haramein and discover the true unity of the universe.

We have as far to go down in scale as we have gone out in scale in our measurements.  Smart people are finally starting to realize that there is no shape to the universe, and there is no limit to it's size.  It's size is undefinable and so it is in the other direction.  Eventually, those two measurements will come full circle but we're not even close to being able to accurately measure either end of the spectrum.  It would be more practical to figure out a way to neutralize nuclear waste instead.  Otherwise, the entire northern hemisphere is going to turn into a wild game reserve like Pripyat.  And with most of the reactors near sea level, there won't be many places a girl can windsurf without serious side effects.

The Higgs Boson is a mathematical construction to get around certain pipe dreams in physics from the 1970's

It is highly probable that it doesn't exist - and lost of research evidence to date proves this.

Stop wasting money - and think!

Excellent scintific work.Congratvlation. Now please tell me who created Higgs boson????......Defni tely not MR HIGGS.All yovr scintific brains pvt together only confirms an strenthens the belief of a svper natvral CREATOR GOD.The very brain which yov think with cannot be seen physically as it sits in the skvll bone of yovr head but yov accept that it exist so why do yov find it hard to believe GOD exist .Science ,natvre, planets, spac e,animals, plants, sea creatres, virvs, bacte ria etc....are all manifestation of the MASTER CRATOR GOD. What ever stvdies v do v will always find perfection in itit an that's when v shovld Glorify yovr Creator GOD."Which of the favovrs of yovr Lord shall yov deny". Everything is a Favovr or Blessing .yovr very existance is a blessing.

We were already in the black hole, as the first run through created the huge vacuum of space, the second run through scattered the fairy dust all over it, and the rest is history. A 'Higgs' Bosun' exists in all places at all times. You can't exactly get a picture of one, they just leave a trail where they went. (On Purpose!). Naughty but Fun!

it's going to make a black hole and swallow the earth

Nope, except I think the future, the present and the past all just got a shot at becoming absolutely real. Reading scripture helps, as having just one avenue of thinking means you don't ask broad enough questions. Consider the possibility of interdimensional fluxuatin exchange, and time travel becoming possible in the future and it makes everything a lot more intersting.

 wow, can someone who knows what they are talking about post a comment, cause I see no one here, knows anything about this.... at least no one is claiming&nbs p;it's going to make a black hole and swallow the earth anymore! The really exciting thing, this research will give us is the many more questions we'll have when it's found or not.... the boson isn't a silver bullet, it's just going to lets us know what new questions to ask next.It's only called the "god particle" because it will answer so many questions about the big bang (then give us 10 more for every one answered). And really.... can you really think of a better job for theoretical   physicis ts then theoretica l physics?  ;

I have this 'theoryofeverything' , that the actual event was a minute 'fracture' caused by blowing up a Higgs Bosun Partnership. It reverberated back and forth as a mass sort of Proton and a flimsy flat quarky thing, until it realised it had a personality split. It realised that as it now existed in this format, it had better get back to basics and do the whole journey back to this point, so that it could be recombined in the same experiment. Pouf, all you see is a wisp exiting the scene. Meanwhile we have had a double run of our 'existance to this point'. Which is why there are so many people about with deja vu. The actual Big bang event happened in a series of seven increasingly large fracture patterns, with the eight pattern being a re-smash of the first pattern, at which all the successive six patterns required to get back to the first pattern evaporated, as they never happened. We now have a twining DNA structure, intertwined double 'Universes' and a regular headache working out which one we belong to. The simple truth is that they occupy the same space with a few milliseconds for error of judgement etween them. Thats how we make a choice. Are we an 'Empirical' person, or a 'Spiritual' person.

It will be exciting regardless whether Higgs Boson is actually found ; Quantum theory of Gravity still has an awful long way to go.
And the future task for physicists should be to find out why the big bang happened in the first place, was it due to outside influence from other older universes or what?
There is this excitement in physics every 100 yrs or so that everything fundamental has been sorted out but then we are forced to swallow our words.
I believe the new frontier should be to find out if the laws of physics that is being claimed as TOEs are applicable in other parallel universes or before the Big Bang.

I think if they knew a God particle was born every second it would blow their minds and they might stop randomising us all. I guess the actual Higgs-Bosun must hide itself in a quarky bit of matter to get itself through the collider. They just wouldn't be able to see it because of exploding the carrier particle it's attached to.

Why this hypnosis with matter? Matter makes up only four percent of the energy of the Universe. Why this view of mass? Mass we are told is a measure of a body's resistance to acceleration. Any three-dimensional&nb sp;body or particle as energy in three dimensions is naturally resistance to acceleration. Try pushing a train, or a person. The Universe cannot be fitted into the Standard Model. That has already long become clear. Let's free the tens of thousands of scientists employed on these projects for 146146work elsewhere!  -- Boswell Williams

Seems to me God wouldn't like to be vaporised, perhaps they did get a 'glimpse' of Satan's magical tail flashing past the anti-matter? He might have a slightly scorched backside for meddling around on Earth for so long!

whatever they will find, they will say this is a proof God didnt make it all xD yes yes we are from chimps lol when are they gonna find some luciferian particle, I wonder ... but hey, that would mean that he exists ... so no, he has to be kept hidden. No devil particle it seems, only some "natural" xD Theyre not gonna do anything extraordinary, its just another little step to be known, in the following years hardly anybody will remember them. But hey, lets use word god, so we get more read about.

scientist are nuts, and they are gonna just mess around untill they really create a big bang.
