HRW: Syrian opposition kidnapped, tortured, executed loyalists

March 20, 2012 10:37

Syria’s armed opposition is involved in abductions, both for ransom and for political reasons, and the torture and execution of prisoners, Human Rights Watch said in a statement. The group calls on the opposition to stop such atrocities.

Maybe Kony should pack and leave to Syria and start some freedom fight over there and join his counterparts. Saudis and Qataris are paying good and US and UK give training and plitical support. Turkey and Jordan provide the safe zones and logistics. CNN, Aljazzera and BBC will show him as hero of freedom, democracy and humanity. They might actually hold a conference for him in Paris or Brussel so he can share his ideas to world.

@"WeNeedObjectiveJou rnalism": Yes, the HRW website does contain some criticism of U.S. "allies" like Saudi Arabia and Turkey - but much more mildly than it should be given the realities of those countries, and nowhere near the stridence with which it condemns the Syrians. Also, and much more importantly, human rights violations and HRW criticism in places like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey never, ever result in Western militaries bombing (or threatening to bomb) those countries. I wonder why that is, now? Wouldn't have anything to do with "human rights" being used as a hypocritical ex cuse for something else, would it?

@El Jefe'

      Slavic people have always been capable of great things.  They destroyed the backward and degenerate Ottoman Empire.  Your Zionist Khazars were on the side of the blood thirsty Sunni extremism as they're today.  Slavic people defeated Nazi Germany.  Hitler's war on Russia was financed by the Zionist bankers.  Slavic people were first in space and are more advanced in number of scientific fields than your Khasar led West.  Slavic people hasn't oppressed Palestinians or others for over sixty years.  Slavic people have morals and a fine soul which can not be said about Talmudic Zionist Khazars.

Just go back to your cave with your stone age Talmud and sing your blah, blah, blah, there  - Kind Regards, from the one who knows your mob too well.

Russian FM Lavrov to Kommersant FM radio today: "We believe that the Syrian leadership responded incorrectly to the very first manifestations of the peaceful protests. The Syrian leadership - despite the numerous promises it has made in response to our calls - is making a lot of mistakes. Unfortunately this is why the conflict is so acute."Finally he admitting the truth. Only one year too late ;-)

It seems that you never read any HRW articles or reports. Of course does HRW also criticize western backed countries such as Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, Tunisia and definitely today's Iraq. Again a very bad argument from you ;-) Why is it only a problem when HRW criticizes Russia backed regimes?
If you think that Syria is a secular country, you are fooling yourself. A secular country should offer equal opportuni ties in education, jobs, etc whatever the person's ethnical group or religion is. Currently in Syria is ruled by a gang coming from the same small tribe who takes all the country resources while the majority is denied all their rights and have been slaughtered systematically for the last 40 years. The Assad gangs always conducts collective punishment. Around one million&nbs p;of Christians had to escape Assad's cruelty in the 90s to mainly Germany and Holland. I still remember one Syrian Christian girl in my school in Germany at that time who came as a refugee to Germany after her father was abducted and killed by the Assad gang. Is this the secularism you are defending? Further, please stop linking the sunnis with Al Qaida. You sound like George Bush. This is what you call racism. The most sunnis in Syria are secular, but still hate being ruled by a gang. Furthermore, bring me proof that the opposition says that they will slaughter all the non-sunnis? Where did you come up with this? This is typically Assad's propaga nda. There are also prominent christian figur es of the opposition (including Geor ge Sabra, Michel Kilo, Fayez Sara, etc). The funny part was that George Sabra, a devoted Christian, was arrest by the Assad gang in the beginning of the revolution and charged of conspiracy&n bsp;to create an Islamic state ;-) How silly can this regime be?

I would like to contribute to the aforementioned persons and/or give them some 1st hand information. 1. Milosevic and karadjic were not Serbian patriots or defenders of Yugoslavia, on the contrary, they were doing exactly what NWO would want them to do. 2. If someone gave final blow to Yugoslavia, they were those who called themselves "protectors and defenders" of Yugoslavia. 3. Albanians are not muslim terrorist at all, however, Albanian leadership is corrupt, crimina, involved in all sort of organized crime. They have ruined lives of their fellow Albanians, just as Milosevic did to serbs in all former Yugoslavia. Albanians and Serbs equally have distinguished themselves for betraying the east by taking it up the as.. from NATO/EU=NWO, 4. Unfortunately, still the evil cloud is above serbia, bosnia and Kosovo, 5. Conclusions: It appears the only way to come and remain in power is by following orders comming down from Western Luciferians, who want people with sordid and unsavory past to be brought on power whereby they can be manipulated (intimidated and coerced) for their evil ends.   I'm sorry muslims and eastern orthodox christians can't find a common grounds and build a solid alliance and counter wester hypocrisy lead by NWO.   Peace out

It is refreshing to see that out there there is at least one human rights organization which has got the guts to explain in detail that the Western and Saudi-backed "good guys" are actually the bad guys. I have read the HRW report and it quotes : " Abuses include kidnapping, detention, and torture of security force members, government supporters, and people identified as members of pro-government militias, called shabeeha. Human Rights Watch has also received reports of executions by armed opposition groups of security force members and civilians."

I have found a very interesting article on line by Andre Vltchek : "The Death of Investigative Journalism". Google it. It is an eye opener. It explains very clearly how the media of the West has basically made indipendent journalists and war correspondents redundant. In the process "journalists" working for the media empires of the West have become corporate employees and all the "journalists" sent to war zones are basically telling the story their governments in the West want to hear, and so truth is distorted and censored.

@"WeNeedObjectiveJou rnalism": First ly, I don't trust HRW - like most Western NGOs and mainstream media agencies nowadays, they are quasi-propagandists and skilled distorters of truth who twist, omit, and selectively present facts in accordance with their biased worldview. Haven't you ever wondered just why it is that most of HRW and similar organizations' reporting of "atrocities", "war crimes", "human rights violations" etc . ALWAYS seems to occur in countries or regions undergoing a bloody Western-backed insurgency/civil war aimed at regime overthrow (e.g., Syria, Qadhafi's Libya, Saddam Hussein's Iraq, 1990s Yugoslavia) and rarely or never in those places ruled by oppressive regimes/groups that are "Western allies" (e.g., Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Turkey, today's Iraq, today's Libya, today's Bosnia and Kosovo, etc., etc., etc.)? Secondly , you're not seeing the current Syrian situation in proper perspective. The present Syrian government, which is an authoritarian and unpleasant but secular and largely harmless Alawite regime, is facing a violent insurgency by sectarian Sunni Islamic Muslim Brotherhood/Al Qaida type insurgents who are supported externally and buttressed by foreign terrorists and intelligence operatives. These insurgents make no secret of the fact that they will slaughter non-Sunni (Alawite, Christian, Druze etc.) minorities and establish an Islamist regime if they take power in Syria; and they commit all kinds of terrorist acts, atrocities and mayhem in the course of their revolt. What do you expect the Syrian government to do - throw rose petals at them? Sit back and do nothing, like the ludicrous Western "leaders" are telling them? Do you have a real understanding of what an Islamist insurgency IS, and what it takes to put it down?  &nb sp;    ;   & nbsp;

@"WeNeedO bjectiveJournalism": Are you incapable of reading comprehension? The article clearly tells that most of the "killings, tortures, collective punishments" supposedly carried out by Syrian government forces are actually fabricated false "confessions" extracted from them by insurgents while they were "under duress" (i.e., being tortured by terrorists). These "confessions" are then reported unquestioningly by lying Western news agencies as "proof" that the big bad Syrian government is "oppressing its own people". How is that "objective journalism"? But I guess nothing can be allowed to interfere with the preferred narratives of brainwashed morons like yourself!
lol, what are you talking about. Nobody is taking those confessions under gun point as true. Whatever they are recorded by opposition or by the Syrian state TV. If you think I said that, that you definitely lack intelligence. The confessions of "killings, tortures, collective punishments" are made by many victims and are also often recorded on the thousands of videos published online that RT does not want you to see ;-) There are enough videos online showing how the Syrian army shoots on protesters with machine guns and tanks. But unfortunately you are too brainwashed  to try to find out the truth by yourself.  It really makes me sad that people like you exist.
My argument is that HRW has collected thousands of confessions of victims of the Assad regime of deserters. HRW considers a story true only when conformed by many people who are unrelated to each other. Using these confessions, the online videos and  government documents they got their hands on, they have published more than 60 articles and reports in the last year conforming many of the atrocities conducted by the Assad regime and they all conform that Assad is butchering his own people.Please read those articles and reports on HRW website first and then come with some valid arguments.

You seem to not be able to address the accusations made by Human Rights Watch. "Anti-Americanism" is not an arguement, it's just something that people like yourself  that are incapable of objective thinking, and have only a brainwashed point of view say when they have no answers. Anti-Americanism ??? What a load of baloney. Try answering the accusations of Human Rights Watch.

De ar yourshortmem ory, atleast The Monk says that atrocities have been conducted by the both side. You and your lovely colleagu es at this forum are the ones who have totally no arguments against the more than 60 articles and reports written by HRW about all the killings, tortures, collective punishments conducted by your lovely leader Assad. I have come with valid arguments couple of hours ago (see above). But instead of coming with valid counter arguments, you and your lovely colleagues only know they "-" button. I hope that one day you and your lovely colleagues will have the mental capability to come up with valid counter arguments. Good luck ;-)

This story is nothing new, those who arent brainwashed can clearly see that the armed rats are responsible for violence just as much if not more than the Syrian security forces. However the rats are losing the war, every patch of territory they hold is bombarded by artillery and attack helicopters.
