Violent storm hits Kamchatka

Four coastal settlements in the Koryak district in the north have been evacuated a storm in the Bering Sea hit the the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia’s Far East. A state of emergency has been announced in the region.

Emergency services are preparing for mass evacuations after more than 40 houses were flooded in Russia's Far East. Amid heavy rainfall, the water level at the Zeya water reservoir in the Amur Region continues to rise.
