Iran envoy and a diplomat’s welcome

Tehran's top nuclear negotiator, Ali Larijani, and EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana have agreed to formal talks on Iran’s nuclear programme next week.

Europe’s top diplomat welcomed Iran’s envoy to Brussels for discussion aimed at defusing Tehran’s standoff with the West over its nuclear plans. Major powers have offered Iran a package of incentives in a bid to break the stalemate. Iran has not replied yet.
