Perhaps I can contribute in a small way to the discussion here. Just for the sake of that discussion, let us say that the US Conquers Iran and with that, dominates the entire PetroRegion, all the while holding Israel at bay with false promises and threats that no one believes.

Whe ther Israel has nukes or no, they can surely acquire them from Karzai, who has shown he has a low threshold for being bought. Cheap Enough. Karzai's Nukes are small, tactical/artillery items that do not weigh much, even with shielding.

As small jet traffic entering the US, especially Israeli Air Traffic, in general is basically unregulated, it would be a simple transfer to deliver the items to US Territory, to be stored until wanted. (all unknown to the incompetent DHS/TSA who are all too easily distracted by frivolities)

Once the US has control of the AfroEurAsian Operational Theatre, for Israel to assume direct control would only require the destruction of the Core US Government. This would cause the US Populace to Panic and result in a Generalized Insurrection and Abandonment of US Military Forces Abroad. It would take at least 2 years for the 'Shadow Government', assisted by an International Peace Keeping Force, to reassert control via Martial Law and a New Constitutional Convention.

M eantime, Israel simply shifts the Blame to Islamic Terrorists and hires the US Milit/Relict as Security Forces for the Region. A fait accompli would seal the deal with the stranded Milit Commanders as they struggle in conscience to aid their Countrymen Back Home.
