Ireland votes for austerity with EU gun to its head

June 01, 2012 15:21

Ireland has become the sixth country in Europe to turn the Brussels austerity pact into law, after a substantial majority voted for it in a referendum. The EU promised to withhold new bailouts for the debt-stricken country in case of a "No" vote.

Cromwell wins! What he tried to do to Ireland they are now doing to themselves thru the EU. We will miss you, you were a great country .

And these agents are still in that movement.  Plenty of IRA volunteers would strongly object to being compared to any zionist and their deeds. Unfortunately the  cause of the pursuit of Irish freedom has been hijacked and demonised by the british and their agents in Ireland.

Well, there you have it.  They've sold their own country to foreign control.  Just out of principal, I would have rather exited the EU at any cost.  You can't put a price on sovereignty.

During the 1980's Ireland had very little growth, then the country joined the EU. Like Greece it was given opportunities to borrow money at low interest rates and as usual the bent politicians and the clever businessmen borrrowed vast amounts of money, then they had a building boom. Then one day everything went belly up in New York, and the bottom fell out of the Celtic Tiger. Had Ireland had less avaricious greedy politicians and businessmen on the make, the people of Ireland wouldn't be suffering like Greece. Different country same kind of politicians. At least the Irish paid taxes, and don't keep spouting the garbage about the nasty English etc etc.Irelands troubles were caused by Irishmen, and don't forget it !

What do you mean what's happening to my people? FDI is moving into the country at great rates, and PL was the only country to avoid a recession in the EU. And then we just take the money we earn abroad and send it home. At the same time, the Irish pay less money for certain tasks. Therefore, everyone wins, stop complaining.

Yes but Wall Street always gets the Irish to vote twice....just "to be sure"..at all at all.......so I know they will want another vote ....in the interests of democracy!LOL  Just like we Brits will get a vote as well.
How stupid can we all be to let a tiny gang of Zionist shysters rule our lives like this?

James Connolly would despair at how easily the Irish people have rolled over and allowed themselves to be bullied by the greedy and powerful financial terrorists. They are closing their eyes and praying it all gets better, when in fact its going to get a lot worse for them and the ironic thing is they have agreed to this terror. I just hope our european neighbours have more fight in them and they manage to stand up to these bullies. The irish appear to be too conservative these days to stand up for themselves and are going to allow others to fight their corner. They have well and truly been tamed. Turkeys voing for christmas.

Don't you realize who the Irish use to do menial labor around Ireland? Poles of course. So while you are laughing  at Irish misfortune, think about what's happening to your own people.

Meanw hile what's your point with your insults against everything Russian? Are trying to prove you are good little EU foot stool?

WHITE SLAVES were Irish, FIRST teaching Africa "how to use humans as though nothing but traded and exchanged pounds of Shylock's flesh," therefore, shackles on the wrists and legs are a comfortable fit for the Irish.

I am also of the tribe that wandered in the hills dales and other beautiful places in earth to find FAYE, never to return "home."

That is the way it is going to be on this round ball spinning on its axis 45 degrees, we the wee folks learn how to "bob and weave" or we get to have digital computer keystrokes in our brain as GOD forever and ever, amen.

Ireland are damned if they do, damned if they don't. The Irish are snared in the EU trap of so-called 'bailout' money. Not sure who exactly the ECB are helping as it doesn't sound likely that Irish citizens benefit. Probably serving the interest on German bank loans. Anyway, if the vote had gone the other way the Irish would only have to repeat the process until the 'Yes' vote was obtained. Ain't democracy great!

LOL at the person who said the government did some vote correcting. But when elections are held in Russia, the government doesn't do vote correcting right?? Vote correcting only happens in the West right?? LOL, hypocrite.

Where did you get the 50% turnout poll from?

NO WAY did 50% of the population vote, more like 10%-20% at the maximum. Half of us got no vote anyway!
There are no fair elections anywhere anymore. The most fair election i have witnessed recently was in Russia with the re-election of Putin. Oh wait and in France for sure because they got a guy in there who saved them from sure despair.
