Propaganda gives a sense of meaning, pride and purpose. Personality cults create a sense that the leader is the father of the nation and that the nation as a whole is one big family. It gives a strong sense of belonging, purpose and meaning.

When such a nation loses it's dear leader, it's as if a part of their identity, their purpose, their belonging is lost.

The North Korean people have not much. Their devotion to their country is all that they have. They are not rich and wealthy nor materialistic. When they lose their symbol of motivation a huge part of their meaning of life and purpose is lost.

I understand their sorrows. I am still crying mourning my Christian God and I walked away from the Christian faith 10 years ago. I am a broken man inside of me so I understand how the North Korean people feel about losing their god-leader.

I f it's obvious that some of them are acting so save themselves from consquences, be certain that most of the North Korean people feel genuine and deep sorrow for the lost of their dear leader. People in the west cannot comprehend what North Koreans feel.

I don't think that there is one article on RT that doesn't have anti American rhetoric posted in the comment section...it's amazing how obsessed people are. The poverty rate in Russia is the same as in the US....the common people are pretty similar...they both have corrupted politicians in their government...both have history of unspeakable crimes against humanity (though I think Russia has be invading longer) and most of all...they have been bickering with each other like brother and sister for how many years...for the love of fudge get over each other.
For the record...outside of the US and Russia....the US is know as the nation that brought down Russia and broke up the Soviet Union...they really slapped ya good...sent your economy into a tail spin...Is that where the bitterness comes from?

Skillz Flux wrote in #10 hopeleaves wrote in #7 Actually these people really are mortified about this.
Take note: the US doesn't abandon her allies.
Like Hussein, Pinochet, Noriega, Al Qaeda and so on... right?
the US doesn't abandon her allies, what about Rwanda, the UN (which is the US really) let millions die in Rwanda and that was in the 90's, so my point don't give us the US doesn't abandon her allies BS the only ones the US don't abandon are those that have either gold oil or a good position in the globe for invasion of so called terrorist country.  Rwanda did not have anything the US wanted so they did not give a shite.

Anybody who has ever been in an abusive religious cult should be able to identify with these North Korean mourners. I last heard that we have well over 2000 of those type religious cults in the USA at last count, and growing in number every year. Just bury old Kim Jong-il next to Herbert Armstrong, and in the resurrection we might have a hard time figuring out which leader is which.

"The sorrow following the death of the "Dear Leader" appears to be genuine."

I think it's funny that RT stated "appears to be genuine." Why? Did RT think it was orchestrated, or worried that people would think so, so RT felt the need to say that it "appears to be genuine," and not willing to take any blame if the assessment were wrong?

These are losers. They only cry for a sick man with cult personality who did nothing for their country, except increasing their military to f*** up the earth to rule the world.

Most  Western stereotype commentries  here on the death of the DPRK leader reflect the polluted outlook sullied  by the delusions regarding  socialist  society as a state in imminent economic collapse, as antihumanitarian, and  as the red menace being the main threat to 'freedom'. Hardly surprising. All the black spots in their knowledge of the DPRK, or of Cuba, or of the Soviet Union before now , were guided by information policies that filled them with black paint. The objective is to effect social and political changes in third world countries through a concerted  mass media missinformation export from the western countries. But these elaborate attempts have hit the rocks in many countries and the DPRK is one such example. The peoples cultural and ideological resistance to western way of life cannot be killed with dollars or threats of war. In their country still thrives a healthy moral culture and collectivist spirit of  mutual cooperation alien to the west. They are united in stopping the expansionist and aggressive drive of imperialism in Asia, This cannot be seen through the spectacles of bourgoise ideology which does not countenance true human love or freedom from the exploitation of the monopoly capitalists. Humanist emotions it is, one is viewing at the loss of an anti-capitalist  ;hero,  no t mass hysteria !

Simply put: This is either a big show of grief or they really are brainwashed! What would happen if they received freedom and capitalism tomorrow? I'd imagine they'd be confused because those two things can never be synonymous.

They are disciplined and lovely people. I do not think this people are suffering. I think people should start looking other cultures and countries not from that outside view but from what those people really are. Trying to judge other culture from you culture point of view I call that colonialism and Imperialism. Th is video is an example just to tell us North Korea is what the western media is trying portray.
