Legendary singer Muslim Magomayev dies in Moscow

Renowned Soviet and Russian opera and pop singer, Muslim Magomayev, has died in Moscow. The 66-year-old baritone had suffered from heart disease, but the exact cause of death is unknown.
Born in Azerbaijan, Magomayev became popular in the 1960s and 1970s, when he toured around the USSR and Europe. He gained fame throughout the Soviet Union following his performance in the Kremlin Congress Palace at the closing concert of an Azerbaijani arts' festival in 1962. In 1973, aged 31, he aquired the title of a People’s Artist of the USSR.
Muslim Magomayev will be buried in Moscow on Wednesday.
