German police have seized 120 kilograms of cocaine hidden among crates of bananas in a container shipped from Ecuador, AP reported. It is the second big find of cocaine in Germany from South America this year. The Federal Criminal Police Office said Friday the drugs were stuffed into travel bags hidden among the boxes of fruit. They were found April 14 when over 20 containers that arrived in the Baltic Sea port of Bremerhaven were checked.

Hundreds of military sacked in Bolivia after protest march

Bolivia sacked 702 members of the military Thursday in a quick response to a march by non-commissioned officers protesting alleged discrimination against indigenous members, AFP said. The commander of the armed forces, General Victor Baldivieso, likened the protest to sedition aimed at staging a coup. About 2,000 sergeants from all services had turned out for the protest in uniform and singing marching songs as they paraded through downtown La Paz. The protest followed the sacking of 13 non-commissioned officers on Monday for refusing to obey orders and for mutiny.

North Korea on Friday denied accusations from Seoul that it sent small, unarmed drone aircraft over the border recently, AP reported. The military in South said three of the drones that crashed recently near the border with the North were flown on possible surveillance missions. Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the North Korean ruling party, described the claim as farce, adding that Seoul is trying to provoke a war.
