Americans don't say ...  America doesn't call itself Mother USA   That is a expression with deep roots. In old times Slavic people felt themselves strongly attached to their land. In some way it also represents the "generosity" of the Russian land to all the nations who live or have lived in it. You may  read what it is written about in the Wikipedia, at least. Of  course, it is an idealisation, as when Americans say that their country was the "first democracy in the World".

NYC wrote Russians build inferior machines than Americans.     On March last year a NASA rocket failed putting in orbit 2 "Glory" program satellites (USD 450 m). A couple of years ago a Falcon rocket founded by NASA failed launching 4 satellites (USD 770 m). I do not need to remind you of Challenger and Columbia explosions. Actually the coefficient of reliability of the NASA manned missions is lower than that of the Russian Agency.

Imagine if Russia, the US, and China collaborated on a mission to Mars...

Americans don't say we are number one First the idea of “mother” suggests that a mother never puts herself first! I assume you know that. And yes the U.S always thinks it’s number one. Manifest Destiny is why the U.S going bankrupt today because the Americans want to be number one always and always. In WWII the Russians fought 95% of the time and won the greatest wars both against the Japanese and against the Nazi Germany so why 5% the U.S fought has been translated into to 100% of the WWII effort? And the Russians were the first to go to space and they are still in the leading edge of space exploration but here in this very thread- we have people shouting the U.S is number one in space exploration, the U.S is number one in space research!

Libertywithoutlies The Russians always put emphasis on cooperation but in reality the U.S space program is busted and the Russians are willing to cooperate and do indeed cooperate of lot of nations and companies and that includes the U.S but the Russians do not have the mental disease of shouting we are number One all the time? No and this is the point.

here's a depressing thought for humanity....   ....people are arguing over THIS!!!   the se space agencies dont work in competition as is suggested MANY times in these comments... &nb sp;  yet rather work together.   Surely, the history of this probe is evidence of that?
