Smart move by Monsanto; they see that America is finally waking up to the alternative energy movement and they begin monopolizing the market by staking a claim in the soybean market.  Looks like the alternative energy movment will be bought out and marginalized just like the "green" and "global warming" movements.   Then again we knew these guys were smart.  Look up tetrochlorodibenzodi oxin if you dont believe me.  These are the types of people than can sit, faceless, behind a government and dictate its foreign policy and, in effect, the way the world works.

MONSANTO -- as with ALL Big AMERICAN INDUSTRIES and CORPORATIONS (finance, trade, etc) -- are the American "way" of GLOBAL enslavement. PERIOD.
note that the PATTERN is very common:
the use of "copyrights" wars including the "justifications" ("we are protecting the creators") - and which country REALLY manages and dictates WHAT copyright IS? ...these are all related,  the MOnopolists like Google, Microsoft, Monsanto, their Pharmaceutical, medical, arms, finance, agriculture, and countless other industries -- ALL express the United States' SINGLE Principle above all principles :

ENSLAVEME NT of the entire world.
"OUr Foreign Policy has always been geared toward sgathering as much of the world's resources unto ourselves at the expense of others....we are a Nation of Money and War Racketeers and Gangsters for our Big Boss: Our Supernationalistic Capitalism and our Cultural and Economic Assault....for 30 years I Served as our Chief High Class Muscle Enforcer in Three Continents, KNOWING that what WE do is EVIL"> General Smedley Butler, US Marines, 1933
"What most americans do not really know or Admit is: WE are living our lifestyles ONLY because it is part of a very, very vicious System of Exploitation that Dehumanizes and Enslaves People Everywhere...I was part of this Project of Empire of ours"
JOHN PERKINS, Former CIA "Economic Hitman".

I know very well who bought 1/2 of Brazil´s RICH agricultural land , all foreigners , various nationalities, but 1 thing in commmon , guess what ?  They hate everyone who are not their own tribe and so as a human being, beyond being a BRAZILiAN CITIZEN who loves life and humanity , oh well , inconvenient truths MUST become public for all of humanity to help us Brazilians help humanity whatever way we MUST .  Brazil is to become a Tropical Tolerant Young New Rome where all are welcome, all cultures mix, all ethnicities also, and enough fertile land to help humanity NEVER starve anymore .  Brazil has a lot of food so here is a Brazilian value for all of humanity, good food for all at the best price possible .  CLEAN DECENT FOOD .  If the ilk of the Monsanto wants to destroy humanity by poisoning Brazil, they may try and even win, over my dead body !

You simply do not see any other aggregation of human beings on this planet as evil as this corporation is.  It's not even close.  Yes, I know about the Israelis.  Yes, I know about the drug warriors.

It isn't only what this company has already done to this earth.  It's the legacy of their monstrous creations and policies that will continue to plague humanity for generations to come.

I'm against the death penalty, but for these goddamn nightmares, I'd be willing to make an exception.

Why don't farmers just patent their own seeds?

The Green Party calls Monsanto, "MON-Satan."  If you let them get away with their greed, they will be patenting flies and then charge you a royalty fee if you swat them.

Did I miss something here?  Nowhere does the article say that the farmers want to stop using Monsanto seeds.  They just don't want to be made to pay extra fees.   If Monsanto lowered their fees, would the farmers happily continue planting this poison?  Too bad.  If 5 million Brazilian farmers had come out and said they would never again use Monsanto seeds, then THAT could change the course of history.
