US to use S. Korean base to project power against China?
November 08, 2011 14:47
Residents on the South Korean Island of Jeju are continuing to resist the siting of a huge naval base there. Critics fear it will be used not as a shield against North Korea, but as a base for the US to target rising world power, China.
Has S Korea lost its independence aleady? It has no say over jeju island? it cannot say "no" to Washington? Looks like any country which has American troops on its soil becomes an American colony whether they lke it or not.
America in S Korea to protect S Korea from N Korea? Sorry, it looks maybe the S Korean needs the N Koreans to kick out the American wolf who came in from the back door.
Its about time the S Koreans kick the American military out of S Korea. N Korea doesn't have CHinese troops and bases stationed in N Korea, so why does the American troops need to be in S Korea? The S Koreas are capable people and in act number more than the N Koreans - 40+ milion to N Korea's 20+ million. American military presence are a magnet for trouble, tension, conflicts and war. It's really time for the S Koreans to rise up and throw the Americans out the way they threw out the free trade agreement with Washington.
RE: US to use S..Korean base to project power against China No problem! China will have a "large" base 90 miles off US coast in CUBA! And you can bet it will be outfitted with lots of shiny sophisticated weapons the likes of which US has not seen. "Oh yeah,"China in Cuba to protect it sea lanes and protect against US terrorism of which US has a bad long track rerecord! Gitmo will be closed.. China will be "monitoring sea lanes, gathering intel range has no limits for Chinese early warning ship with nukes, jas US will have in SK port.US Admiral said it will call SK "home.". Best part only 90 miles from the bankrupt US can wave at its money China lets US have to float its debt each and every day! . Another advanatage for China, learning Spanish second language of US!..Ha Ha Ha This is GREAT!
Just a natural response to the paper tiger's escalation in the SCS. Do not be surprised if other countries come on board (e.g. Vietnam). For them, they rather have a US Naval base than PRC occupation. Should make the Chinese take a quick look back at the USSR and rethink their overextension.
The current South Korea president is unliked his former presidents.
He tries to move closer to the U.S.A. for his own reason.
The people of the South Korea needs to wake up.
