Navy back in Syria

Russian warships have returned to the naval base in the Syrian port of Tartus, used by the Soviet Union since the late sixties, after more than a decade of absence.

The Navy Headquarters announced on Friday the list of countries where Russia will have naval bases in several years time.
Warships from Russia’s Northern Fleet have arrived in Cuba for the first time since the collapse of the Soviet Union. A unit led by the Destroyer Admiral Chabanenko will stay in Havana for at least four days.

Long term presence of russian war ships in Mediteranean See is by sure a warrant of more stability in that region. An not only in Mediteranean region but also in Caribean, Indian Ocean, Persian Gulf... the presence of russian mil is benefic. The sees of world can not be let under only hegemony of one nation or one military alliance. This could generates an spirit of military adventure.
