Occupy Wall Street: controlled burn or fierce blaze?
October 10, 2011 16:31
A spark in the heart of the United States’ financial center has slowly begun to ignite the public as the pro-democracy Occupy Wall Street movement spreads across America. But can a movement with no driver steer itself towards a clear set of goals?
&n bsp; Any casual observer could notice the conspicous reti cence of the chief spokesperson, altimatum-giver plenipotentiary on protests ( ie when the leaders of other nations are concerned ), Hillary Clinton! Where the hell is she?
&n bsp; &nbs p; Well, when you live in a glass house, you do not throw stones! Hillary can no longer throw stones. Why, one might ask? The fact of the matter is: while Barrack Obama was so busy milling out with the fraudulent sharks of Wall Street collecti ng campaign funds, Hillary on the other hand, was busy welcoming one into her family! How then can she be vocal when it comes to vilification of Wall Street sharks!
  ; & nbsp; Folks, the evil tentacles of Wall Street goes as far as the White House and the Senate. Without holding elected representatives responsible for tilting the laws to overwhelming ly overlook the excessive greed and fraud of Wall Street, we would not achieve a lasting change. The next step should be the United States Congress/Senate! Until the elected representatives  ;feel the heat that, their election or re-election prospects depend on changes they make with regard to the laws favouring Wall Street they will never act. &nbs p;
These so-called demonstrators using rhetoric from the past like "Days of Rage" associated with violence (the Weathermen) seem to project the anti-infrastructure and anti-government values of the NGO called the International Pirate Party that is active in many nations now. They want to tear things down. But no agenda to present as alternativ. Controlled burn, or manufactured opposition. Job creatinon for law enforcment.
As any number of Marxists could tell you post 1945 no action is required to end the Capitalist Order. It will bring about its own demise. However to survive  ;its end will clearly require a social revolution. Without a revolution the externalities of Capitalist&n bsp;production( Global warming etc) will finish us off. Or the division into nuclear armed hierarchies(Nation states) will. Western economics has become indistin guishable from theology. Its politicians corrupt front-m en for an order doomed by the properties of the universe in which it operates. Owing to a near death experience the Fat Lady has ceased to sing.
The problems here in America have taken so long to develop they cannot be easily solved. Occupywallstreet really needs to be open ended and ONGOING.
It's about changing a way of life not simply making a list of demands that can be met. Making a list of demands will simply give ammunition to the "Powers that be" to placate the crowd and eventually break them up and then go back to biz as usual.
OWS needs to simply remain and be an open forum for all that is corrupt and tainted in our economic and political system.
These "protests" are neither "burn", nor "blaze". These are just people with a lot of free time on their hands and a boring life. Anyone with any talent to market already is productively engaged in benefiting the society. The pathetic folks at these "protests" today, will be the ones who are homeless and eating out of garbage cans tomorrow. Of course, this does not apply to the people who are organizing and manipulating these "protests" because they are clever enough to always find some ways to support themselves off the labor of others.
Western governments and political leaders get money handouts as donations from the very rich. The very rich have leverage on the governance with their money. Not the electing public! This is counter democracy for more than a century. Elections are not bona fide causes of donation and should be simple presentations through the existing media. Now, the very rich have imposed austerity and special taxes through their puppet governments on everybody but on themselves. So, in the midst of austerity programs the very rich is getting richer and others are getting poorer and are mostly unemployed.
