Different approaches, same goal? UN vs. Friends of Syria

April 19, 2012 08:52

The UN chief has said Syria has not fully complied with the UN-brokered peace plan and he aims to send more monitors to the embattled country. In Paris, Friends of Syria talks push for opposition support potentially destabilizing the delicate truce.

We the 28 ! milion alawite  minority in turkey are also afraid that the turkish governments want a sectarian war, because erdogan discriminate us always... in cooperation with the nato and cia they put innocent in the jail ... if they start a war to us...i call all the alawites (28 milion) to come to western europe. To come to the borders in the west turkey, and the greek and bulgarian borders to storm it... france and britain is their obligation to record and to grant asylum... because they also aim for an conflict in turkey...And, what the nato want in syria is, also an sectarian war... thats why i call the syrian minority to come to france and britain...because, france and britain support the war in syria... and western europe must also pay the price for their cowardly acts in syria.... and later for the refugees from turkey... and, i do everything for them to get here( i am from holland)

CON: It's funny that you agree with me because I was joking. The Russian ambassador in the UN voted for the same resolution, so if the UN is discredited so is Russia (and China). Only Cuba can save us.

Free Syria: You are right. Pushing up oil and gas prices is the main motivation for Russia's interest in the region. Yet another is the danger of a Russian Spring, if the dictatorships in Syria and Iran fall to the democratic forces. The Russian oily oligarchs certainly don't want a change.

The NWO Elite want war in Syria to begin their regional war in the Middle East.   The 'Friends of Syria' is a charade for their real agenda.

I think the UN is so discredited under Moon that there's a real chance of  Syria being left to the jackals, leaving diplomacy dead in the water.

These terrorists are not the friends of Syria! They are merely 'Thieves' of Syria who collude to install dictatorships and to pave the way to steal, rape and pillage the country of its wealth. This agenda seems to be a new form of democrasy, which any intelligent person will tell you is just plain terrorism. All this propaganda promoted by the UN stinks to high heaven, especially when the peace envoy declares he couldn't see who started the firing. It is easy and typical of the UN western backed terrorists to say that, because their eyes will only see what they want to see and would not dare report on the turmoil and truth that surrounds Syria, especially when it is the terrorists causing this unrest. I would like suggest to the UN and their Zionist backing death merchants, that the only way this trouble can be sorted out is by letting the Assad regime sort the mess and restore the Syrian culture, values and ethics back to its people. The Syrian Government should then deport and bannish the culprits accoun table for this uprising and deport them to America to live the American dream, amongst the Zionists in Washington. &nb sp;That way the rebels get their wish to live in a western democrasy and peace can return to the real Syrian people.

Friends of  Syria? maybe they are related to "friends" of Libya. You didnt think that the rebels=sorry "freedom fighters" were going to stop their fighting they were told to carry on so that the Syrian government  would have to retaliate and America could say see they wont stop fighting.America has been using this PLOY since the 1950s why because it always works. And the world would say "BAD=BAD Syria.propaganda coup! Why are people "taken in" by this? The USA NEVER change.I am pleased that more and more decent people the world over are coming to the rescue of RT against the obvious Mi5/Cia posters Stop the west destroying RT! as it has done to other truthful news sites

WWII started with Germany invading other countries . The key word here is invade. What's going on in Syria is an unrest and the most extreme scenari o for the ending of this unrest would be civil war. It will NEVER result in WWIII as it's not a direct threat "invade" to the existence&n bsp;of Russia, China, US etc... what I'm saying is: the big heavyweights just play with us, the want the conflict to go on and on and keep dividing us for their own benefits not ours. If Russia truly believes what happened in Libya w as wrong or a mistake, then why don't they correct it by sending troops and correct it? They won't because they will never risk the live of a single Russian for the sake of correcting others. Syria is the exact same thing. keep the conflict going and the oil and gas prices will keep going up meaning more profit for Russia who's main export is oil and gas.

The "Friends of Syria" have no political or diplomatic legitimacy. This competency should be delegated to the United Nations (UN) only. And please UN, take back your integrity.

I'm surprised that Russia has only 4 observers on the mission out of 250. I would appreciate it if RT could do a more comprehensive breakdown of the countries of origin of the members. As for Ban-Ki-Moon, he is merely the dummy to Clinton's ventriloquist. He opens his silly mouth ad her words pour forth. He's not even handed. He should shut it and leave Annan to do his job.

These "Friends of Syria" continue to call Homs an opposition stronghold; desperate to replicate the resistance against Gaddafi centered around Benghazi, despite the fact that Homs was cleansed of terrorists over a month ago. Only a handful of wannabe martyrs remain, stirring up trouble, blowing up houses whilst their accomplices film the explosions from a distance and level the blame on the Syrian army.

By saying that Assad is attempting to wipe Homs off the map, Sarkozy is not only replicating the misquotation that has been effective in demonising Iran over its position on Israel, but also churning out the same nonsense rhetoric that preceded the NATO bombing campaign in Libya, such as how there was an impending massacre. The only massacre emerged after NATO arrived.

That said, there's only a few days to go before election day in France. Sarkozy is set to be humiliated, so who cares what he thinks anymore? FM Juppe can kiss goodbye to an invite to the next Friends of Syria meeting, too. He'll be equally irrelevant.
