To John:No, you are rediculous.Your example about Portuguesse and Romanians is irrelevant simply because those nations are not particulary related (genetically and ethnically).Their languages were derieved from Latin (Roman Empire).Not so with Slavs because they all descended from the same stock and therefore their languages are so similar.It is not result of borrowing.This is original cognates.Every educated person knows that Poles, Ukrainians and ethnical Russians are almost the same genetically, there is lots of modern studies that proves it.This is why Poles and other Czechs make Western people curious when they try to deny any genetical relation to Easten Slavs.Any educated person understands that they are related.Politics and modern culture (?) has nothing to do with ethnicity and ancient culture.And why Poland should be proud of its modern culture and tendencies?That they have 1 children per family and soon will disappear in this way? Russian Empire and USSR are things of the past.What would you tell about Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth and its expansionist and racist policies?And what Relation have modern ethnical Russian to USSR in which they constituted absolute minority of population?Or to Stalin who all his life spoke Russian with hard accent?

@Mittag Leffler--There are American jokes about stupid Poles for historical reasons.  It is only because the Poles were the first large group of white people to come to America who had trouble learning English.  Other English-speaking countries do not have jokes about Poles, and Canada's jokes are about Ukrainians and for the same reason--many Canadians emigrated to Canada and they were the first large group of white people who had trouble learning English.  All other large groups of immigrants were from countries on the coast of Europe.  Ukraine was not, and Poland didn't exist so it didn't have a coastline.  Therefore there was no contact with England and the languages grew very far apart during the centuries.  Coastal European countries, with more contact, traded words back and forth and have more similar grammar.

Well done Poland, you've been taking it so hard from the US you've become exactly the same as them.

In America you make jokes about stupid Poles. In Soviet Russia Poles make jokes about stupid you!!

#1 Im polish #2 first time I heard that was a "popular radio show"?? - seriously , they made such stupid comments only to get public attention. And yes they get attention but also program is shut down now and they saying that even radio station can lost license now. #3 Michal Figurski is born in Moscow Russia, studying in Lebanon, his friend Wojewodzki is a  idiot who don't have any respects from polish publicity thats why polish TV stations take him down.For some people who brings a comments about World War II - it is really a point to bring this now ? dont you like BMW and Mercedes brands (yea its German same country that starts WWII)? We all want to see bright future and Im sure we all can regret what happened in past but we should do our best that our kids will not experience same. Actually JJ your friend was probably lying....And it really is pathetic how quickly the Poles have forgotten Nazi abuse just because they want what the Germans have. The Poles will just suck up to the West until they get their teeth kicked in , again, because, honestly nobody respects boot-licks.

A lso if you look at history, the Poles attacked the Russians first during the 'Time of Troubles' in  Russia and started this eternal feud we are seeing now.

without a formal declaration of war.  What about Russia being on the side
of Nazi Germany, until Hitler double crossed Russia?  How many countries
did Russia invade in World War 2?  Let's see, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland (and Romania - via threats in 1940). Later in the war the Russians invaded Hungary, Bulgaria, Germany, and Slovakia.  How many
of these countries did Russia keep their land after the world ended and for
how long?  How many war crimes did the Russians commit against these
countries?� � And you guys get excited  when some Polish Shock Jocks
make fun of you?  Are you serious?

I guess after all the Polish jokes in the U.S. about how non-smart Poles are and being abused by Germans as subhumans, the Poles still have this pathetic need to abuse their Slavic brothers.

I guess the Poles really are as non-smart as all the US jokes say they are. 

So, what do you suggest: it all about the fault of “big bad Russians” so we should allow the Poles do little bit of racism so they could feel good about themselves! So this too is Russia’s fault!
