Alexey Morozov sets up Superleague record

Alexey Morozov has beaten the all-time Superleague points-scoring record. He did it as Ak Bars defeated Metallurg Magnitagorsk 6-2 to extend their lead at the top of the table.
Three goals in a dominant second period helped Ak Bars to win. Alexey Badyukov completed the three goal run scoring at the second attempt to make it 4-1 and Ak Bars’s captain, Alexey Morozov, got the sixth goal to break Sergey Makarov's 26-year-old record. The new record amounts to 81 points, but brilliant Alexey Morozov does not seem to leave it as is.Meanwhile, CSKA Moscow won on the road. Krylya Sovetov's awful time continued as they were hammered at home 13-1 by Khimik. And finally, Salavet Ulaev have gone up to third after an overtime win at Metallurg Novokuznetsk.
Davydenko through to the next round in DubaiRussia's Nikolay Davydenko has made it safely through to the second round of the Dubai Open. It was a close game for Davydenko who beat his Moroccan opponent, Younes El Aynaoui, in three sets 6-7, 7-5, 7-5. |
