Fancy a trip back in time -- 10 centuries, for example. Then Moscow is the place to be, where a festival letting you take part in medieval Russian history has just kicked off.
The “Russian Early Medieval History and Culture Festival” allows visitors to not just witness but actually take part in events set in between the 9th and 11th centuries.
The program includes theatrical performances, combat simulations and displays of costumes and armor.
Visitors and participants from all over Russia and abroad can also enjoy master classes in crafts and folk arts.
The festival is intended to preserve and revive old Russian traditions.
