About fifty enthusiasts of the extreme sport of base-jumping have jumped off one of the world’s tallest buildings – the Ostankino TV tower in Moscow.
Originally, all the jumpers planned to jump from the tower together. In doing so, they'd have beaten the previous world record for simultaneous base-jumping – as acknowledged by the Guinness Book of World Records – set back in 2004, when 30 jumpers leapt simultaneously from the same tower.
However, adverse weather conditions meant that it was too risky for everyone to jump at the same time. Not to be completely outdone, though, the jumpers decided to go ahead with their jumps, but one at a time after short intervals.
It still resulted in a spectacular show.
