CSKA Moscow still lead basketball's Euroleague group C after defeating Eldo Napoli in Moscow on Wednesday. The final score was 82-72. CSKA scored 17 points in a row to finish the quarter 28-7 in front.
Despite a spirited fight-back in the second half, Napoli were unable to bridge the 10-point gap the Russians had build up mainly through the intelligent play of Matjaz Smodis. The CSKA's Slovenian player helped himself to 18 points and led the winners. CSKA now sits alone at the top of Group C for at least 24 hours, but will be joined at the summit again by Barcelona if the Spanish can beat Pau-Orthez (France) at home on Thursday.
